A-League Draft Recap ***** UPDATED *****

Both Mania FFB leagues held their drafts last night.   It was a good time had by all.  Well, except for Deuce because he lost his internet connection just minutes before his pick in the 1st round and did not get it back till midway thru the 4th round.  That's shitty, McDouche.

Some people asked that I put up a fanpost with the draft results.  So here you go.  And I even took the time to put in a little analysis.

Round 1

The first round went pretty much as expected without any real surprises.  The reach of the round would go to me (McCoy at 5) and Buster (McFadden at 9).  Their ADP's (average draft position) are pick 13/14.  The value pick of the round goes to Ulf who snagged AJ at pick 12.

Round 2

In round two, I think the best pick for its position was Geno taking Roddy White who fell to pick 17.  He was the #1 WR last year and is ready to have another huge season as Matt Ryan is only getting better.  For the reaches, I would have to go with Drew taking Hillis with pick 18 when his ADP is 28 as well as Puck who reached even further for LeGarrette Blount at pick 24 (ADP 45).

Round 3

In round 3, Geno once again got the best value pick when Reggie Wayne fell to him at pick 31.  Geno just happened to get luck and had a couple of morons drafting before him and after him so this became a trend.  And example would be Drew taking Miles Austin when Wayne was on the board.  The reach around for this round goes to BJPennFan who took Jhavid Best at pick 35.  His ADP is 83.  But that 83 is just retarded.  I had Best ranked as a mid 4th rounder.    NOTE: I was very happy that I was able to snag Felix Jones at pick 29.  He's going to do big this year. His upside is tremendous

Round 4

Buster snagged Peyton in the 4th.  As soon as he's 100% healthy, he will be among the elite fantasy producers.  Some people don’t like the pick of Mark Ingram by kevjack, but I don’t think its bad at all.  The kid has a boatload of potential,.  People like  to say he’s in a crowded backfield.  Do they not realize that this first round selected Heisman winner is waaaaaaay better than Pierre Thomas and what, Chris Ivory?  And he’ll be getting the goalline touches and racking up points.  I don't really see any reaches this round.  Maybe DeAngelo being picked by Jay.  Speaking of DeAngelo, did you all see that someone in League B took him 5th overall?  Yup, that’s why it’s the B League folks.

Round 5

In this round I like the pick of Knowshon Moreno by Drew.  He is entrenched at their undoubted number one back.  To get a number 1 back in round 5 is always a good catch.  Speaking of catches, Moreno gets an added boost in PPR leagues.  As for the reach, I’d have to go with jay taking Beanie Wells.  Sure he’ll get the bulk of the carries in AZ, but he just hasn’t lived up to expectations yet.  And I don’t think he ever will

Round 6

Best upside pick would be I, whom selected Tim Hightower this round.  I feel like this will be a homerun or strikeout type of pick.  Shannahan is known for making average backs into big time producers.  Ulf thinks his kid Helu will take over by mid season.  That is only true if Hightower doesn’t perform, and me and many others think he will.  A also like kevjacks pick of Stafford since all the high end QB’s were off the board.  Out of the remaining QB’s, the ones with the highest ceilings were Stafford, Bradford and Freeman.  There really weren’t any awful picks this round.

Round 7

Speaking of Freeman, I drafted him right here.  In his 2nd season last year which was his first as a starter he threw for nearly 3,500 yards with 25 TD’s, only 6 INT’s and even a few hundred rushing yards to boot.  Now that he and Mike Williams have had a year together, their chemistry will only build from here.  As for the worst pick of the round, that goes to MMACHAMP hands down.  He selected Ben Tate.  Enough said.  But I’ll carry on anyway.  Even if the news this past week was that Arian Foster died in Hurricane fucking Irene, Ben Tate still shouldn’t be drafted here.

Round 8

There were a few good PPR picks here with Ulf taking Devone Bess and BJ taking Danny Amendola.  I also especially like  jay’s pick of Mike Thomas.  He is the number one WR on the Jags (but I won’t mention their QB)

Round 9

Best pick of the round goes to me, again.  I selected Mike Sims-Walker who is the number one WR on the Rams who have the soon to be 2nd year all pro Sam Bradford.  If they can get on the same page, that page is going to be filled with fantasy points! As for the worst picks, well, this is the round the defenses began getting selected.  4 of them were taken.  3 of which were autodrafted.  Drew was the only one to personally select a defense, so he had the worst pick this round.

Round 10

Best pick of the round goes to Dragay who drafted Sam Bradford who I’ve already mentioned a couple of times.  I expect big things from him.  Honorable mention goes to whoever selected Jacoby Ford.  As for the worst pick, well this is when our 3 autodrafters got their kickers.

Round 11

Honestly, non of the players taken this round will have standout years or are even worth mentioning.  But I will point out that the worst pick was Buster taking Kevin Kolb as a backup QB.  Kolb just flat out sucks.  You heard that ANS?   Kolb sucks!  And he’s your starter.  And to think you almost got in the A league….

Round 12

Pick of the round I’ll give to Buster Bluth this round.  He landed Mercedes Lewis, a top 10 TE, here in Round 12.  Nice pick Buster.  Worst pick of the round goes to Puck Head.  He selected Roy Williams who might be getting cut from the Bears sooner rather than later.

Round 13

New England Patriots was the theme of this round.  I selected Stevan Ridley who I expect to be the number one Patriots fantasy RB come the end of the season.  Another NE RB was taken here as well.  Kev selected his homeboy and mentor, Danny Woodhead (again!).  Isn’t he like 4th on the Patriots depth chart now?  And then Ulf finished off the round by taking Aaron Hernandez, the Pats 2nd year TE.

Round 14

In this round, I really like kev’s autoselection of Lance Kendricks.  He was one of my sleepers.  For those that don’t know, he is a rookie TE for the Rams, and his QB is this kid named Bradford that I may have mentioned earlier.  Can easily be a top 10 TE by the end of the year.

Round 15

Not many standout picks this round.  Jay did take Kendall Hunter.   I still don’t know who the fuck that is…

Round 16

Dragay selected Tim Tebow.  That is all folks!
