Nick Diaz: Georges St. Pierre 'is a little bitch' who didn't try to save their UFC 137 fight from being canceled

Nick Diaz thinks his fight against Georges St. Pierre could have been saved.
The former Strikeforce welterweight champion, who was abruptly pulled from the main event pay-per-view, has been re-inserted into the UFC 137 line up to take on B.J. Penn at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Oct. 29, 2011.
And as Diaz tells MMA Junkie's John Morgan, St. Pierre did nothing to stop it:
"It makes me mad that Georges is going to sit there and call himself a fighter, but he's not going to stand up and say something about this. He's going to let it ride. I think I would say something. I would at least have said, 'I disagree. I don't agree with canceling my fight because of some dumbass [expletive].' Instead, he sat there and said, 'He doesn't have the commitment to be a champion.' What is that? I obviously have the commitment to throw my life away. I've thrown my life away and sacrificed everything so that I can fight. I did that. I threw my life away so I could work hard and train and fight. That's commitment. I wasn't going to say anything in the buildup to fighting Georges. I was going to be really respectful. Georges is a great fighter. But he's a little bitch when it comes to fighting me right now. Why is he just going along with everything? To say I don't have the commitment? I don't understand. Diaz disappeared early last week, missing several mandatory press events to promote his now-defunct clash with the Canadian. His absence, as well as inability to communicate his whereabouts -- even to his right-hand man and trusted trainer, Cesar Gracie -- compelled White to switch gears.
Carlos Condit was unexpectedly tapped to replace Diaz, which left the Hawaiian temporarily without an opponent. It didn't last long. In fact, it was a deal Penn could not refuse.
Diaz, just 24 hours removed from his public spanking, was "punished" with a co main event slot against "The Prodigy." It is certainly a far cry from being released, which was certainly an option that White had to consider based on Diaz's bizarre behavior.
Perhaps he got the message, grew up or offered another sideways apology. On the other hand, perhaps White feels he may have overreacted after finally speaking with the Stockton slugger.
Either way, he's still mad.
In addition to the re-worked main event between St. Pierre and Condit, UFC 137 features the Penn-Diaz co-featured fight of the night while two heavyweight clashes -- Roy Nelson vs. Mirko Filipovic and Cheick Kongo vs. Matt Mitrione -- are also scheduled for the main card pay-per-view (PPV).

Georges is being a professional and a champion by saying he will fight who ever they company throws at him. If he would have tried to stick to the Diaz fight people would say he is ducking Condit. Georges and the UFC did the right thing IMO. The only person being a “little bitch” is the one bitching and ducking out of there god damned duties to there company they have a contract for. Grow up!

The problem is Diaz has been fighting weaker competition for the most part
And it’s hard to guage were Diaz really is skill wise compared to the best UFC fighters. And because of his lack of top tier quality fighters I think Diaz will be in for a rude awaking as well facing the UFC best.

Nope.. All four are elite strikers.. it happens.
BJ and Diaz both have great chins and recovery.. I doubt BJ will keep up with Nicks pace for three rounds, and i certainly dont see a KO.

I was actually bummed that they made that fight. As a fan of both I wish they would be fighting other people. I think Penn completely outclasses him.

Will give Diaz a false sense of security. BJ has been facing better fighters and be much more prepared than Diaz will be able to just from lack of competition at the level BJ is at.

BJ's WW record.. 2-2-1. His only wins against matt hughes.
He’s known to gas in WW fights and there is no fucking way he’s keeping up with Nicks pace for three rounds.. I highly doubt this fight will go to the ground, and i see Diaz winning via points after three very technical rounds of striking.. both have two of the toughest jaws in the game so i dont see a tko or ko happening..

The guy who wrote that awesome fanpost (it is pretty awesome) about all the outlets to MMA made a little jab calling Mania garbage which later he just mentions he was joking.
Anyways one of their staffers, Tim Burke I think made a comment, unwarranted mind you about how Mania is garbage. I commented that he made no contribution to the awesome fanpost.

Honestly, I had mixed feelings about his fanpost
It had some good information, but he consistently fails to write to his target audience.
Inside jokes comparing something lousy to Brock Lesnar’s striking will just leave the average new fan scratching their head. It works fine for us, but if he’s addressing people completely new to the sport, it fails. He does it frequently throughout the article.
And then there’s the whole taking a swipe at mania. >:-{

If Nick Diaz loses he will not fight Fitch. Dana has no desire to give Fitch anything as he passed up for other 170 titlts for Hendricks. He wouldn’t fight anyone the UFC wanted him to. GSP has proven to be a huge draw and is one of the most marketed fighters in the UFC. I think he wants Nick to be a contender, but there’s no way him being champion is the ultimate goal.

While what you say about the respective drawing power of each may be true, I think Dana and the Fertittas would vastly prefer having a consummate professional as their champion rather than a volatile and flighty stoner from whom they don’t know what to expect.

Fighting is the number one draw for sure but when saying commitment I don’t think him and GSP are talking about the same thing.
In the gym and octagon both fighters are commited and two of the most to say the least. But the reason the UFC is the biggest MMA org is because of the commitment outside the octagon and gym that helps the UFC and MMA grow. This is were Diaz IS NOT commited and what GSP is referring too. You wanted more money Diaz and got it but backed out of your commitment, and this is were Diaz’s stupidity shows with his statement.

Cesar is well respected in this sport. Nick is basically his top student. Nick embarrased himself, his camp and Cesar by no showing the UFC and becoming the first person to be pulled from a main event title fight in the manner he was.
His job is to attend the conferences. He is unprofessional as well as disrespectful.

I respect him as a fighter
but not as a person. He isn’t top 5. He is a great talent, makes for exciting fights, but he cannot hang with the wrestlers in the UFC. He just can’t.

I walked up to him after UFC 126 in Vegas. He was just standing there, watching Nate get mobbed by a crowd of people (yes, Nate). I said “hey Nick, can I get a picture?” He said “sure man”, then proceeded to turn his back and walk away. Good guy, for sure.

I was walking out of UFC 126. It was right in front of the entrance to events center at Mandalay Bay, which basically just opens up into the casino. A bunch of guys were walking around. Nick was kinda just walking in the same direction as me and I said “Hey Nick”, he looked at me, grinned, and I said “hey man, can I get a picture”, he said “sure”, then kept walking. being in a title fight on ppv pays alot more and could possibly gain new sponsors..
anyways, it could have been alot worse.. they could have removed Diaz from the card.. He definitely got off with a slap on the wrist, but he was definitely punished in a sense of a bigger pay day, not to mention a HUGE opportunity(WW title shot)

i would have been happier if Nick was fighting for the title, but i like to look at the bright side of things.

I like the GSP vs Diaz better than the Condit vs GSp myself mainly because of the fighters attitudes and recognition by past experience in MMA not to mention champion vs champion
But I like BJ vs Diaz more than BJ vs Condit for many of the same reason and Condit is the next best proven UFC fighter at WW so all in all I think the card either way is pretty exciting.

And I’m much more worried about this fight with Condit vs GSP than Diaz vs. GSP. GSP is my fav. fighter and saw him steamrolling Diaz. Not so much with Condit. And I saw Condit taking it to Penn. Both these “new” matches are more competitive IMO. GSP/Condit is two professionals and Diaz/Penn is two loudmouths. Although they seems to have respect for each other and aren’t chirping nearly as much as I thought.
Does the UFC really need to go through these elaborate plans to gain attention?
Also, would Cesear Gracie really let his and his camp’s reputation be tarnished and embarrassed just to please the UFC and Dana?

first of all, I dont think he will, but if he does, he will forever be thought of as the guy that ducked Diaz (if Diaz beats BJ). Whether its true or not, it will look like it and he will get torched for it, even more than he does already for being one of the most boring fighters in the UFC

Can't be a champion by just doing the easy part
There is no doubt that Nick Diaz can fight and will put it all on the line when he’s doing it. There is no doubting his courage in the ring. However a person does not become a champion by facing the challenges that are easy for them to face and it looks like Diaz has some significant challenges to overcome in learning to be responsible for himself and dealing with the less than fun parts of the career he has chosen.
Having GSP stick his neck out to save Diaz’s from his own pinheaded choices is not going to help Diaz get any closer to overcoming this. Suck it up Diaz. You are in charge of knowing what you have signed up for and fulfilling your obligations. If you don’t intend to do it, don’t sign the paper. (not that I have any clue what the contract he signed looked like, and I’m only presuming showing up for some PR was part of it)

nicks always been one of my favorite fighters/characters in MMA. I just cant figure were he is coming from on this one. Why the hell would GSP standup or say anything, he doesnt make the rules and he had nothing to do with pulling the plug on that fight. Nick clearly just doesnt understand how life and contracts work. That said im fucking pissed that he pulled this crap cause this was shaping up to be a really good fight, two of my favorites. I dont blame dana for pulling him out of that fight but dont see the point as now he gets to fight BJ, WTF why not let him fight AS while your at it. High profile fight to high profile fight doesnt seem like just punishment for dissing the UFC, GSP and everyone else involved. BJ, GSP & AS are the three biggest names in all of MMA, he shouldnt be rewarded with that. This whole situation is really fucking stupid. Honestly I think they should drop him from the card and maybe from the UFC. Something has to give with Nick, maybe losing his meal ticket would help motivate him.
