Vitor Belfort 'is going to have to beat some people at 185' before getting another title shot

Too soon?

Vitor Belfort wants to fight the winner Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami, who throw down for "The Spider's" middleweight title at UFC 134: "Rio" on Aug. 27 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Not happening.

That's according to UFC President Dana White, who told media members at last Saturday night's (Aug. 6) UFC 133 post-fight press conference that Belfort's "Phenomenal" knockout win over Yoshihiro Akiyama was impressive, but not enough to garner him an instant rematch against Silva.

Here's why:

"If they (Silva and Belfort) went out and had this war, back and forth, if it were like the Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva fight, that'd be one thing. But it lasted what, 35 seconds? It's something Vitor is going to have to chew on for a while. Vitor's going to have to beat some people at 185 and then work his way back up to that title shot because it'd be hard to make that title fight after what happened [against Silva]."

Belfort crumbled under the flying foot of Silva at UFC 126 back in February, resulting in a first round technical knockout stoppage in a fight that was never really competitive, despite the considerable hype.

That, coupled with reports that Brian Stann vs. Chael Sonnen will fight for the division's number one contender spot at UFC 136 later this year, means Vitor still has some work to do.

But against who?

How about it Maniacs, is there anyone in the 185-pound division you want to see "The Phenom" fight on his road back to his UFC middleweight title shot?
