Rematch won't happen

Two reasons: Silva will retire by the time Vitor get’s another shot OR Silva will decline the fight if it is even offered to him again.

Or Okami TRT's it up and beats Andy.

why would Anderson decline to fight a guy who he beat almost effortlessly in 3 minutes?

After many years of savoring the sweet taste of Fedor’s gizz, it seems that some has shot into my eyes, thus blinding me into thinking Fedor could finish a legend like Dan Henderson, who has never been Ko’d in 36 fights. As always, Dana White had it right all along. Dana truly is God’s gift to Mixed Martial Arts.

Exactly...

Lol. Why fight a guy again that he effortlessly beat in 3 minutes. You answered your own question.

I should remember it is the weekend before answering. Never mind "jfreezy"

Andy would have ko'd him some other way then

Vitor was swinging at air that whole fight, he has nothing on anderson and never will.

actually scorecards pointed vitor ahead before the Front Kick From Hell.

It was much more entertaining

to watch Vitor come in way overhyped, see a second Xtreme Cotoure pupil get clowned by Silva’s head movement, and watch Vitor miss with at least 6 strikes before being Segal’d!

by jfreezy on Aug 7, 2011 3:54 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Nice work Vitor...

Well deserved. But his fast hands only works against non-wrestlers and guys with no head movement. Akiyama had no head movement – Silva made Vitor strike out twice in the first round.

I do hope they keep Akiyama around.

Vitor gets winner of Sonnen vs Stann

For #1 contender, that would make the most sense

by enjoimike49 on Aug 7, 2011 1:39 AM EDT reply actions

And if Bisbing wins?

Unfortunately, if Bisping keeps winning – they will try to slot him before Vitor again.

by jfreezy on Aug 7, 2011 1:41 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Bisping lost to Wand yo.......WAND!

by RolloTomasi on Aug 7, 2011 2:01 AM EDT up reply actions

If he beats Miller

That’s four straight victories. Put Vitor against Leben. Stann and Sonnen are scheduled, and Bisping and Miller are scheduled. If Bisping wins – he will fight Stann/Sonnen winner for number 1 contender. Timing may be an issue.

by jfreezy on Aug 7, 2011 2:10 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Leben is also scheduled

Give vitor winner of Stan/chael. Give bisping or miller the winner of Munoz/leben.

by soupdz28 on Aug 7, 2011 2:18 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

And give

Phil davis vs Anderson at 205. (won’t happen because if Phil loses ando probably won’t fight for the LHW title and it knocks down a possible contender) but I like this fight so do it

by soupdz28 on Aug 7, 2011 2:20 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Bisping already beat Leben.

Could be a descent fight with Munoz though.

by jfreezy on Aug 7, 2011 2:24 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

I expect Munoz to win

But u cous switch them up give vitor winner of bis/miller, I think if rather see vitor vs Stan or chael for a #1 contender spot

by soupdz28 on Aug 7, 2011 2:34 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Comes down to Joe Silva and styles

Wrestlers vs. Strikers or Strikers vs. Strikers.

by jfreezy on Aug 7, 2011 2:42 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

No fucking way

does vitor get a #1 contenders match. He just beat a guy custom made for him and he didn’t earn his 1st title shot.

by Khaos_Warrior on Aug 7, 2011 2:04 AM EDT reply actions

Leben would just get KO’d. Vitor would be way too fast. Vitor vs Stann sounds cool to me. Whether Stann wins against Sonnen or not.

by RyanHobbs on Aug 7, 2011 2:18 AM EDT up reply actions

Not only is vitor faster but a much smarter puncher.

by Itsover on Aug 7, 2011 2:25 AM EDT up reply actions

I feel like you really cant go wrong pitting anyone with leben.

by Itsover on Aug 7, 2011 2:33 AM EDT up reply actions

Except Sonnen

He would just lay on him for three rounds.

by jfreezy on Aug 7, 2011 2:39 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

That's why I said

Vitor vs winner of stann/ Chael. Vitor vs stann= some one going to sleep. Chael gets vitor down, vitor has his BJJ black belt

by soupdz28 on Aug 7, 2011 2:42 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Agreed.

But is that a number one contender bout? Hard to not slot Bisping for the title shot if he beats Miller. He would be tied with Stann for the longest win streak in MW other than Silva – but Bisping’s is more impressive.

by jfreezy on Aug 7, 2011 2:52 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Yes and no

IMHO a win over chael is more impressive than betting Jorge an akiyama combined lol. And as good as Mayhem is he hasn’t fought in quite a while. Either way I think chael and Munoz would both wreck bisping, where as vitor has a really good shot at beating both. I would lov to see bisping fight anderson tho because I’d love tosee Anderson murder him lol

Didnt you guys watch the fight?

Vitor hit him with two illegal shots to the back of the head right at the end of the fight!!! the first one put him out, thats when the ref jumped in but not beofre he hit him with another!! Total BS, Vitor shouldve been DQ’d for eneding the fight with illegal shots to the head! Buth then again I actually watch the fights, I cant believe there isnt one comment about it! Not to mention he gets KO of the night for hitting a guy in the back of the head. Not sure whats going on or WTF but that was nasty. If it were GSP you all would be calling BS on that fight. Funny how its ok depending who you are!! That was so brutally obvious that I cant believe it wasnt dealt with last night, BS!

sure akiyama was on his way out, but maybe he would have been able to grab a single or something. Instead he gets bs finished

Surprised an illegal KO makes the KOotN honors. Pathetic.

from now on you have to watch the fights before posting about them ok.

by HEELHOOK on Aug 8, 2011 10:51 AM EDT up reply actions

can't blame Vitor

Ref’s fault. Akiyama was out as soon as he hit the ground and after that the two blows to the “back” of the head landed

by robinhorobson on Aug 7, 2011 12:00 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

@ robinsonorobson

he wasnt out when he hit the ground, he didnt even get hit with a punch until Vitor swarmed him throwing punches wildly hitting him in the back of the head. If Vitor is such a good striker maybe he should get some control or accuracy, instead of just throwing like a kid in a street fight. dana needs to re-look at this. Bones has a loss on his record because of an illegal shot, Vitor wins 70 k for illegal shots, WTF"s going here?

by HEELHOOK on Aug 8, 2011 10:58 AM EDT up reply actions

Ya, you're right. Akiyama got robbed....

he didnt get robbed but that shouldve been ruled a no contest or something.

Im not in denial about the fact the Sexy was scrambling but he clearly wasnt out until the first shot to the back of the head! IMO Akiyama doesnt belong in the UFC, looks horrible every fight, still cant believe he was awarded that win over Belcher!
