Kimbo Slice wins pro boxing debut with 10 second knockout over James Wade
Maybe his "inner me" isn't the "enemy" after all.
Kevin Ferguson, known to the masses as Kimbo Slice, made his professional boxing debut tonight in a four-round bout against James Wade, who was 0-1 coming into the contest.
Now he's 0-2.
That's because the former Ultimate Fighter contestant knocked him clean out, sending him through the ropes flat, needing only 10 seconds to do so. In his debut earlier this year, Wade lasted until the third round before getting knocked out.
Slice, 37, is looking to recreate himself as a pugilist after a failed run in the UFC ended at the hands (and kicks) of Matt Mitrione at UFC 113 back in May 2010. Tonight was his return to action and if the results were any indication of his future in the "sweet science," the future is bright.
Shortly after winning, Kimbo tweeted a pic that had the tagline: "This is how he ended up." See it after the jump.
Anyone ready to declare Kimbo the next great heavyweight? Anyone?

i don't mind kimbo at all.
he was far more humble in his mma career than everyone made him out to be. he got in to the game too late and left too early.
Facts are theories too.

I kinda agree
He did get into the game too late but didnt leave to early. He would have just gotten destroyed in the UFC with more fights. He might do good on smaller regional shows. He seems like a nice humble guy and I wish him the best.

Im with ya man.
I came in thinking way worse of him than I should have. Dude seemed like a good guy. Hope he does well.
I didn’t kinda hope he made the cut to 205 but knew it was too late.
Congrats Kimbo, keep doing what you gotta do.

He's not the next great anything
And to even declare something like that or even imply that is embarassing and should never be talked about ever again. Kimbo is a fuckin joke and will always be a sideshow. When he loses his first boxing fight, expect him fighting in Japan against hong man choi
you just don't like black people.
don’t cross the 2 issues please. it’s quite shallow

Okay, now that we’ve established he can beat a tomato can, let’s have him face a tomato can who might have won a match next.
what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things ive ever heard, at no point in your rambling incohereant response were you even close to anything that can be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.

If Kimbo follows the Brock model, he should be champ in the next 10 minutes or so.

exactly.
then he can claim to have some kind of disease that doesn’t exist. he can also follow the Bones model and say he needs surgery on his thumb from sticking it up his ass and firing off a mud rocket.

Slice is certainly better suited for boxing only
and he’ll pad his record with a bunch of cans. But we all know 2 things. He’s got no cardio and he’ll quit on you. At least for him, he won’t have to worry about getting chopped down from leg kicks.
Great Job Kimbo... Honestly if he would of fixed his knee and dropped weight he could of maybe been better.
All his MMA fights, he dominated the stand up, but once he got kicked on his bad knee it was all down hill.
