UFC Quick Quote: Why did Junior Dos Santos ditch Ed Soares?

13093831006740

"The reason they aren't my managers anymore is related to the fact I am looking to evolve, looking for more attention, understand? They always were great with me, they're still my friends, are people I will always listen to, I like Jorge Guimaraes [Joinha] so much and so does Soares but it comes a time in which you're not satisfied with some things and I found it better to go ahead with somebody who gave me a little more focus, that’s basically it. Regarding my relationship with other [Tough Media] fighters, that's the same. We are Team Nogueira and Black House is an academy to serve to Tough Media fighters, so I am not a member of Black House, I'm part of Team Nogueira where Rodrigo Minotauro, Rogerio Minotouro, Anderson Silva, everybody is, you see? So nothing has changed regarding my training."

UFC heavyweight number one contender Junior Dos Santos tells MMAmania's own Eduardo Cruz (via Fighters Only) that he'll no longer be passing through the Black House facility in California since he is no longer a Tough Media client under Ed Soares. However, the Brazilian bomber doesn't expect any changes to his training camp or pre-fight preparations as he's still aligned with Team Nogueira and his original sparring partners. How about it Maniacs, is this a distraction that will hurt him as he heads into the biggest fight of his life against Cain Velasquez later this year? Or is this just business with no fight night repercussions?

i thought anderson silva was at xtriker or whatever it's called

good for junior chasing that chedda’

fedor > gsp > a. silva
it's much more impressive to control a guy like fitch for 5 rounds than it is to beat leites in any fashion. The quality of opposition tells a story as well.

Just biz..

Junior’s striking while the iron is hot business wise…he mos def seems the focused and intense type of fighter…this isn’t even a hiccup in his day…he knows what he’s facing in cain..

ed manages many fighters and dos santos has truth to his words

he is a rising star with his next fight a title match and he needs a manager that dedicates most of his or her time into their client.

junior has obviously just learned to speak english...

cos that is the only benefit that ed soares brings to his portugese speaking clan…………meeeeeow…..get those claws out catty…..

What distraction?

Is this even news worthy? Obviously jds wanted some focused attention on his career. Ed manages alot of high profile guys….. Who cares? The only thing jds needs to worry about heading into the Cain fight is his cardio. Would this even be a blip on the radar of any other professional athlete? Business is business and this site must be having a slow news day……

i'm obviously going to bite at that comment,,,,,,,,,

and call you a tosser, and use the great thing that is internet patronisation……….

so you know JDS personally, and you know what his reasons were exactly, cos you have spoken to him about it, get the fuck outta here, i’m listening to guns and roses from 1989, and they have more insight than you do, 20 years ago, than you do now, that you don’t do now or never……..

you idiots have turned me into a troll, i hope your fucking happy...........

Bloody Elbow troll shitkid. Fuck off.

Current bets:
20$ on Fedor to finish Hendo against ViolentMike.
SigBet with TheGreg on Rampage to beat Jones, his 2 weeks to my 1.
SigBet with kg12 on JDS to beat Cain, 1 week.
SigBet with Jay on Diaz not getting finished by GSP, 1 week.

Because he's a snake...

and every time he translates, he comes up with a bunch of BS to make every thing his fighter is saying more marketable and fan friendly.

He probably wants a manager that has less fighters and that will give him more attention and money making “gigs”.
It’s funny managers are like symbiotic beings they live of the commissions but good managers also can do a lot of good things for their fighters like get them endorsements and appearances, seminars, merchandise, good fights and promote their fighters etc.
In the end of the day he has to do what he thinks will be best for him.
