UFC 132 results wrap: 'Cruz vs Faber' event review, news and notes
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to pay-per-view last Saturday night (July 2, 2011) with UFC 132: "Cruz vs. Faber," featuring Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz successfully defending his title for the very first time inside the Octagon and exacting revenge against Urijah Faber in the process.
But that's not all.
Middleweight sluggers Chris Leben and Wanderlei Silva met in the center of the cage, as promised, and delivered a stunning knockout finish, via "The Crippler" crumpling "The Axe Murderer," again, as promised.
And what else is there to say about the performance of Tito Ortiz?

Heres what i leanred
Chris Leben now has his first HUGE win and he needs another top 10 fight. I would like to see him vs. vitor is Vitor wins or Munoz.
Dominick Cruz getting a 50-45 on someones scorecard had me disgusted (literally) and the 135 division needs an influx of talent ebcause as close as Faber/Cruz was, Faber shouldn’t be talked about getting an immediate re-match.
Melvin Guillard is on a snowball effect and he is just picking up
Denis Siver is getting bettera and better in all facets of the game everyttime i see him. I like him
Carlos Condit beat meanie Okami and that alone should have him a win away from top contender after Diaz.
G-sot is over and i really feel Siver’s win broke him.

G-sots was sloppy and wreckless,
in that striking exchange and he seriously underestimated the hands of Anjos. I doubt he will be making that error again, especially with the thought of losing three in a row hanging over him. He is lucky that he does not have to face too many guys as powerful as Siver in the division.

Agree on many levels
I would rather see Leben vs. Munoz rather than Vitor…Munoz has good power/GnP and wrestling. I think they might just end up standing and banging. I think Munoz might have the chin to be able to get through a fight with Leben. I think Leben is like a Zombie and I don’t see Vitor hitting with anything that takes him out, but I think Leben could hit Vitor hard enough to take him out.
50-45 was a joke. I think the first FB fight one judge scored 30-27 when it was clearly 29-28 (can’t remember exactly) but I do remember telling one of my buddies that I hoped that didn’t foreshadow horrible judging for the night. Fortunately most of the fights were finished.
Love the analogy for Guillard.
I don’t see Siver getting past a Maynard type of wrestler, but he did have great TDD against G-sot, but Wiman got him down and pounded on him for a round. A bigger/better wrestler would do that for 3-5 rounds.
Condit is next, but won’t wait so I figure Fitch/Shields (again)/Kos would all be perfect fits.
G-sot is done, relegated to being the opening PPV fight on the Aussie cards assuming he wins his next fight. I think he got over confident in his stand up and got too far away from his ground game.

agreed
every fight was fun and including the 5 round nail biter main event. I felt Faber one because his strikes were nice knocdowns but Cruz’s takedowns led to quick spring ups.

I enjoyed watching Anthony Njokuani against Barboza,
even though he lost. His stand up schooling of Winner was equally enjoyable to watch. Winner was about as helpless as John Howard was against Alves. The guy will never be champion, but he definitely entertains when it comes to striking. Hopefully they put off, giving him a strong wrestler as his next opponent.
sick card!
From facebook to Spike right through to the great main event this card was fucking wild. There are too many great preformances to talk about but how about Condit crushing stun gun and Tito coming back from the dead and the sad sight of the ax murderer trying to hang on to Josh Roshenthal’s leg. Great card!
