Well, in case you haven't figured it out yet, here's the real reason why Overeem has been pulled from the Strikeforce HW tournament. Did you think for a second that the boys at Zuffa were going to let Showtime put any extra mileage on Overeem while not getting their chunk of PPV money?
Last time, Spike tv got screwed with a Nate Marquart marathon only to find out Nate was fired. I am not denying that Nate was guilty, he was just caught in the crossfire of big business. Did he deserve to get fired? I can't answer that, considering Chael was found guilty of the same thing and he's still around.
Now Overeem gets pulled and leaves a giant hole in the tournament.
This tournament will be dragged out until Showtimes contract is up and then we can all fork for the PPV.
"Business as usual" indeed. I'm not even saying that this is a bad business move of behalf of Zuffa, (although the ethics of it might be up for discussion) but this is what is really going on.
No "crazy conspiracy" involved, just simple dollars and sense ( see what I did there ? )
