According to our fiscal friends over at BetUS.com, it's Oregon-based badmouthing braggart Chael Sonnen, who is the -250 favorite heading into his UFC 136 showdown in Houston, Texas against Brian Stann on Oct. 8.
"All American" stands as the +200 underdog.
Anyone jumping on this line with wallets wide open? Or do you expect a dramatic shift as we get closer and closer to fight night?
By the time fight night rolls around, Sonnen will have been out of action for over a year thanks to his suspensions and various issues with both the California and Nevada State Athletic Commissions.
Stann, on the other hand, has been busy as a bee and just as dominant, earning himself two extremely impressive knockout wins over game opponents in Chris Leben and Jorge Santiago, respectively.
The lines will shift and move as the betting dictates, of course, but the consensus opinion seems to be that they'll hold steady right around where they are now.
Does that surprise you, all things considered?
Stann, who feels as though he's two or maybe three fights away from a title shot, was under the impression he would find himself matched up against someone like Mark Munoz.
Imagine his surprise when word came that he would be putting his skills to the test against the widely regarded number two (or three) ranked middleweight in the land.
The former marine doesn't expect a lot of trash talk from his opponent heading into their bout in the South and if a recent interview with Sonnen is any indication, it looks like he's right.
But how long will the complimentary Dr. Jekyll stick around before Mr. Hyde comes out to play?
It's still early, Maniacs, but who do you like for your money and who ya' got straight up?
