Why Nate M revealing he is on TRT is a much bigger deal than it seems.

Nate M was a guest on the MMA hour with Ariel Helwani today to discuss why it was the PA commission would not allow him to fight against Rick Story in the main event of the VS show on Sunday  and why he was subsequently cut from the ufc...

He revealed that awhile back (he nor his manager gave an exact date)  he started feeling very sluggish, irritable and much more tired after training. He went to a doctor whom ran tests on him and noticed his testosterone levels were low. During the interview Ariel H asked several times what medical condition he was diagnosed with or what could of caused this but he only had speculative answers nothing from his doctor as to why, no real medical diagnosis.

So we know that Nate Marquardt on TRT for a unknown medical condition that has no diagnosis on record....now let me tell you why it's a much bigger deal than it might seem to you. I'm sure most all of you are familiar wth the Chael Sonnen fiasco with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and Keith Kizer in particular.  He like NM was on TRT.  Chael S and Nate M are not the only fighters to be on TRT programs. It is public record that Todd Duffee and Dan Henderson have also fought while on TRT in the state of Nevada. Also Randy C has said to be on TRT but lets not even include him as I do not know of any public record stating such.

You probably remember being stunned that the UFC would release a guy like Todd D after one loss in a fight that he was thoroughly dominating up until he got caught with that big overhand right. A big good looking HW in a short division being talked about in the media as possibly the next big thing, he was even featured on the countdown show before that event. What we did not know is that Todd D was on a TRT program the same as Nate M who got cut from the UFC the same as Chael S who was suspended by the UFC and the same as Dan Henderson who the UFC did not renew his contract after doing very well in the UFC allowing him to go to their only competitor.

Why does a guy like Leban piss hot after fighting in the main event have several other run ins with the law yet never get fired or even suspended by the UFC?  What about a fighter like Josh Neer who after hitting two cars  while drunk led the police on a high speed chase doing upwards of 100 mph only stopping after blowing a tire even through several pit maneuvers from police and was even allowed to fight what was I believe that very weekend and was not fired nor suspended. Stephan Bonner who pissed dirty, Thiago S, Thiago A ..... I could go on and on but I'm sure you catch my drift.

Why would being under a doctor approved medical treatment get you in more trouble?  Let me tell you why.  I am familiar with one of the more well known managers and with several fighters.  Sine the Chael S debacle with TRT I have been warned that this whole TRT thing would blow up sooner or later. Many fighters are using this TRT loophole to not only ensure their testosterone is at optimum levels but to keep it at exceedingly high levels,  levels that are otherwise only obtainable with anabolic substances.  Considering the UFC is fighting so hard to get MMA legalized in all states and fighting so hard to legitimize the sport this is something that Dana White and the UFC has not wanted to become a big deal in the media and is why these fighters that brought TRT to the forefront of the media were kept on such a short leash,  suspended or fired or contracts not renewed when many other fighters have done much worse and not been treated in the same way. These fighters are made aware that if their TRT usage becomes an issue they will be dealt with accordingly and is why Nate M answered that he was not really surprised when Dana W made the video saying he was fired imo.

I mean look the UFC can not deny a fighter treatment for a medical condition but they are well aware that most of these fighters do not require TRT.  This is why Todd Duffee and Nate M were booted so quickly why Chael S was suspended when many fighters have done worse than all of them and been welcomed back to the UFC.

I can only assume the MMA media will begin to investigate how many fighters have been diagnosed with medical conditions that require TRT because it is a very high number.....maybe they will also start asking questions about the testosterone levels of these fighters during their training camps before fights when they are not being tested by any commissions because they are also very very high...lol.
