With Nate Marquardt's removal from the main event of his fight against Rick Story at UFC on Versus 4 tonight, the slot opened up to eventually be filled by the Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry heavyweight contest.
The big question heading into tonight's throwdown between the French Sensation and "HD," is whether or not both men will use their extensive kickboxing backgrounds to provide fireworks for fight fans in Pittsburgh.
This question is quite clearly more in the direction of Kongo, who has used his growing grappling arsenal to neutralize his last two opponents (1-0-1).
So here is a video to remind folks of exactly what the 36-year-old Wolfslair product is capable of. Sure it's from Aug. 2006 -- nearly a full five years ago -- but it's an impressive finish nonetheless, and one Kongo is always capable of unleashing at any moment.
Even against Barry.
Of course, he'll have to make the decision to go away from the wrestling heavy game he's been so fond of lately. Will he? We shall see.
In the meantime, enjoy this devastating knockout courtesy of Yahoo! Sports.
