The million dollar man?
Octagon legend Royce Gracie confirmed to Sensei SporTV (via Fighters Only) his asking price for a return to the cage at the upcoming UFC 134: "Silva vs. Okami" event in Rio de Janiero, Brazil on Aug. 27. Apparently Gracie wants a "seven figure purse" for a one and done fight on the card.
Fat chance. But, he's still asking for a rematch with Matt Hughes in Rio, the same Hughes that is booked to fight Diego Sanchez on Sept. 24 at UFC 135. It's no wonder Dana White has shot down all rumors of Gracie fighting in Brazil.

he looks like hes peering through the tuf tophy hes just won
"ever heard of a tune up? tee hee hee hee
"ah hee hee hee ever heard of a ritual killing? tee hee hee hee"
"i dont get it"
"you gnaw on her face in public like that again and you'll be one tee hee hee hee"
A legend becomes garbage. All respect lost. He brings shame to the Gracie name, fuck him.
Current bets:
20$ on Fedor to finish Hendo against ViolentMike.
i still think with a lesser payout
It would be stupid to allow him to come back, a 44 year old who hasn’t fought in over 4 years. Not to mention the steroids, he may aswell let Sham come back if Royce does.

spot on man
He’s begging to fight in Brazil yet he asks for a seven figure amount to get him to do it. Fucking stupid business move. Its official he’s done in the octagon.
Train hard to fight easy.

that would be the easiest seven figures of his life
he would probably get finished in the 1st round.

There is no probably about it, he would get finished in the first round.....
You play ball like a GIRL!!!
+1000000000000000000
No respect left for him. Reading this story actually made me angry. Really shows how highly he thinks of himself. FYI Royce, your shit stinks too

This is ridiculous......
His last fight in the octagon was a complete joke and to even want to do it again when it’s so obvious he’s leaps and bounds behind everyone in the ufc is laughable at best. I respect Royce and what he accomplished 17 years ago, but it was so obvious in the fight against hughes that he did not train seruiously and got absolutely mauled. If dana was to bring him in and let him fight I would have to boycott for the UFC…….for at least a week…..
You play ball like a GIRL!!!
SAving face
I htink he’s asked for a ludicris amount of money so that he knows it wont happen and can save face in his home country…
Well
The same strategy worked for the reported Royler/Bravo rematch @ Abu Dhabi. Maybe it’s in the family?
Nah.
He’s training with James Toney on how to get paid waaaay too much to get your ass handed to you.

Dear Royce:
Please explain how you go from fighting Hughes, 5 years ago, pocketing $400,000 and getting utterly dismantled, to being told you aren’t going to fight at UFC Rio, then coming out and demanding a Mil?
Signed,
Really fucking confused

co-signed
someone who thinks you should be willing to fight for free in your home town in a sport you supposedly invented.

I'd ask for a million dollars too
If i knew my night was going to end with my head getting dribbled off the canvas a couple of times.
can you blame him?
Seriously, he knows he’s pretty much done, over 40, if you’re going to get beat down.. Do it for the right price:)
I’ll turtle my ass off 5 rounds long eating elbows for a million dollars:)

yeah, so would I
but there isn’t someone out there dumb enough to give either of us that fight. Same for Gracie.
I don't really like how he's asking for THAT much money, but I really don't understand
why people have to talk so much shit about the first UFC champ.
Nick Diaz has as much of a chance at beating GSP as George W. Bush becoming re-elected...
If you follow the chain of events leading up to this quote, it is quite easy to understand. Him being a legend doesn’t put him above criticism.
Well, I didn't say that he's above criticism, I just don't understand the degree of hate/trash talk.
He’s greedy, picky, and tested positive for steroids. I guess I just don’t really care enough to be like “fuck this guy, he’s a disgrace” or whatever.

What this has been BUM says anymore anyway? The guy is nothing anymore and wouldn’t even get through TUF auditions!! Shame his mouth won’t disappear like his skills…..
