UFC on Versus 4 odds: Cheick Kongo vs Pat Barry

UFC on Versus 4 is set to go down this Sunday night (June 26, 2011) live on the cable television network emanating from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

In main card action, longtime UFC veteran Cheick Kongo looks to fight his way back into division relevancy when he takes on fellow striker and fan favorite Pat Barry.

The Parisian towers over his opponent as the -200 favorite.

That leaves "HD" as a fuzzy +160 underdog, probably due to his inconsistency in recent fights as well as his seemingly one-dimensional offense.

Are the oddsmakers calling it like they see it? Or playing it safe? Take a look at how these two heavyweights stack up after the jump and decide for yourself.

265 lbs.: Cheick Kongo (15-6-2) vs. Pat "HD" Barry (6-2)

Backgrounds (last five fights):

Kongo:

Record: 2-2-1
Notable wins: Made Paul Buentello fear the consequences of elbows to the thigh in March 2010
Notable losses: Outclassed by Frank Mir and Cain Velasquez
Strengths: Excellent stand-up, strong, experienced
Weaknesses: No ground game, questionable tactics

Barry:

Record: 3-2
Notable wins: Beat the brakes off Joey Beltran and Antoni Hardonk
Notable losses: Submitted by Tim Hague and Mirko Cro Cop (not a typo)
Strengths: Superior striker, devastating leg kicks, a gamer
Weaknesses: No submission defense to speak of, small for a heavyweight
