Programming reminder: Nate Marquardt marathon still coming to Spike TV today (June 26)
Even though he is no longer with the promotion, Spike TV still has 10 hours of programming blocked off to celebrate "The Great" Nate Marquardt today (June 26, 2011) from 1 to 9 p.m. ET.
The former UFC middleweight number one contender Nate Marquardt (31-10-2) was supposed to make his welterweight debut later this evening, taking on surging 170-pound up-and-comer Rick Story in the UFC on Versus 4 main event this Sunday night live from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
However, a funny thing happened on the way to "Steel City," and mere hours before the weigh in, it was revealed that Marquardt was mysteriously scratched from the event because of failed pre-fight medicals. UFC President Dana White then poured it on, announcing that Marquardt "will no longer be with the UFC."
Nonetheless, for now, Marquardt will still monopolize the Spike TV airwaves in a 10-hour marathon featuring his "greatest fights."
Details after the jump.

great, 10 or so hours of failure in tv!
couldn’t they just show up gsp’s interviews leading up to a fight (i’ll finish this fight!) and then the actual fight?</managing to piss off two groups of fanboys>
fedor > gsp > a. silva
it's much more impressive to control a guy like fitch for 5 rounds than it is to beat leites in any fashion. The quality of opposition tells a story as well.
Mirror mirror on the wall
who’s the most boring roider of them all. I’d give props to anyone who can sit through most of his fights.

There are other options to look into
Like going outside on a Sunday afternoon.
in between every round
They should play the vid of dana tellin him he’s cut
Whats the difference between Two_Words and a bucket of shit? The bucket.

I guess this is why they set it up?

I guess they were really trying to build him up
Since he was supposed to be in the main event tonight. And this was his first fight at 170, maybe they wanted him to be the next guy to fight GSP. But this is stupid no one is going to watch it.
And why would they show him losing?
I just noticed the Anderson Silva fight is on there. That wasn’t even a good effort, he got finished in the 1st round. Fucking stupid.
I would have figured they would pull this before it aired today
but Nate only has one fight on each hour long Unleashed, theres still plenty of other fighters to watch as you wait for the VS event tonight
i dont give out free signatures
