The UFC 133 fight card is currently being tinkered with as Rafael Natal is now expected to meet Constantinos Philippou in a 185-pound scrap for the promotion's return trip to Philadelphia on August 6, 2011.
"Sapo" was originally booked against Riki Fukuda, who today tweeted that a car accident left him injured and unable to compete.
Natal, who first brought word of his new dance partner for the Wells Fargo Center, might be fighting for his job as he's competed twice inside the Octagon and has yet to come away with a victory.
The Renzo Gracie disciple opened his UFC career with a decision loss to Rich Attonito last September before fighting to a rare majority draw against late replacement Jesse Bongfeldt just a couple of months later.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist will attempt to avoid the unemployment line, along with some heavy hands, when he steps in the cage against the 7-2 Serra-Longo fighter.
Philippou spent his entire career under New Jersey's Ring of Combat (ROC) banner where he amassed seven wins against one loss in nine fights (with one no-contest) prior to coming up short in his UFC debut against Nick Catone at UFC 128 back in March.
It could be "win or go home" for both fighters.
UFC 133 will feature a potential light heavyweight number one contender bout, as "Suga" Rashad Evans takes on "Mr. Wonderful" Phil Davis. Also booked for "The City of Brotherly Love" is a middleweight mash-up pitting Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort against Japanese superstar Yoshihiro Akiyama.
In addition, Rich "Ace" Franklin will look to re-insert himself into the 205-pound elite with a victory over the always game but currently struggling Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
