Strikeforce: "Overeem vs. Werdum" represents the second leg of the promotion's heavyweight grand prix tournament, commencing this Saturday night (June 18) from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
In main card action, undefeated Olympic wrestler Daniel Cormier (7-0) will try to continue his rise through the heavyweight ranks by taking on longtime mixed martial arts veteran Jeff Monson (42-11).
"The Snowman" has melted in the eyes of the oddsmakers, who've pegged him as a +215 underdog.
That leaves "DC" as a -275 favorite based on his amateur wrestling accomplishments and ability to steamroll his opponents on the regional circuit in seven trips to the cage following his 2009 debut.
