Former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett and company president Dana White together again (Pic). "The Baby-faced Assassin" remarks that "pigs have now flown" and that we should "look for hell to freeze over next." White has said numerous times that Barnett would never again compete inside the Octagon for flunking several tests for banned substances throughout his career and not showing any remorse. Water under the bridge, boys?

Dude, just stop taking banned substances! No one likes to hear that shit.

Barnett is really good, and I would love to see him fight in the UFC again.

People who don't have the patience for the technical aspect of MMA should think about getting into another sport. THIS ONE requires BRAINS.

Barnett has the skills to compete still?

When was the last time he’s fought…. anybody? Fact is he might not even be able to compete with anybody in the top 10 at this point. His fight with Rogers will at least tell us something but even if he wins he won’t be top 10. It’s been a long time since Barnett has proved anything so I could care less at this point.

Anderson Silva is without a doubt the G.O.A.T. and best P4P to which there's no debate. People may try but they'll lose! GSP hasn't done what Silva has in 2 weight classes plus can't finish people in his own division who haven't moved up from LW. Fedor has less names on his padded resume and was once the top HW but then ducked the best and lost to guys who are barely top 10. Anderson is the G.O.A.T. no matter what the haters who boo him say. They used to boo Ali too. Anderson Silva is Michael Jordan but Jon Jones is LeBron James!

the rogers fight will mean nothing to me, unless Rogers wins.

The sad thing about roids is that when athletes get that dose of enhanced performance it is hard to go back. That shit fucks with your mind too. These fellas live for that feeling- that extra bit of gas in the tank, that feeling of dominance, and the confidence it it makes you feel. Those feelings will never be captured again without the juice. That shit is as addictive as any other drugs. I spent a year in rehab and one of the 45 people I lived with there was a body builder addicted to roids. he was as fucked up in the head (or more)as us heroin, crack, and meth heads

I'll take Barnetts submission skills and experience over

Carwins 1 round gas tank and Gonzaga and overated Mir win any day of the week, and he could probably beat most UFC heavy weights evn if he was half as good as he was. He’s one of the toughest and most skilled submission heavyweights out there. Was very much pissed with him f’cking up that Fedor match. I thought that one of his last comments about Dana saying that a trained monkey could do his job, would come back to bite him on the ass. Looks like it didn’t. Glad to see him back.

by Ade on May 10, 2011 3:23 AM EDT up reply actions

That's cool, your opinion but you're in the minority...

cause most including myself think that Carwin would destroy Barnett in that one round so his tank won’t be a factor. You think he’d survive Carwin’s shot if he couldn’t against Pedro and Cro Cop’s back when he was younger? lol Like I said, you’re opinion.

Anderson Silva is without a doubt the G.O.A.T. and best P4P to which there's no debate. People may try but they'll lose! Scarnon, I just noticed it was you.

I see you are still bitter about Diaz, making your opinion of him not being able to knockout Daley, someone who has never been stopped by punches before, and your opinion that Daley was going to knock him out, look ridiculous.

Here you go, a little reminder…

Diaz is a donkey – He cant take a punch unless he is high as shit… So no… he is going to get knocked out thats that.

Move on dude, move on.

by Ade on May 11, 2011 4:43 AM EDT up reply actions

Fair points, but

The two wins apart from the shoulder injury against Cro cop were a decision win which I thought he might have one the first round in, and a loss in a tournament after fighting Nog. Your right about Carwin hitting as hard or even harder than Rizzo, but I still remember seeing Carwin rocked pretty badly by Gonzaga with a single punch, and also remember seeing Barnett taking some serious beatings and still pulling of the sub. Carwin gassing after one round and me not seeing proof that he is capable of taking what he can dish out, makes me pick Barnett without little doubt at all, but hats just my opinion lol.

Since you mentioned spelling...

You put, “he might have one the first round.” It should have been WON the first round. Not One.

to tell a man he can’t work in his field.

The more orgs that the UFC buys the more “third chances” you are going to see handed out. It’s getting hard to earn a living if you’re an MMA fighter and aren’t in the UFC.

Props to Dana if he resets and says something to the effect of “Now that we are the only game in town, I’m gonna be fair and everyone gets a fresh start”

I mean Dana can be bull headed, but I don’t think the he wants to take away peoples ability to earn a living.

There is a direct correlation between the talent/skill of an athlete and the number of chances after one that he gets. Football coaches will try to look tough on rules and regulations when the back-up punter gets caught cheating on a mid-term, but when two starting defensive linemen get accused of gang-raping a co-ed, well then we have to let all the facts play out before suspending them from practice.

Yeah there is a quote I read in another article

It talked about Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson telling a story about the treatment of his football players while he was with the Cowboys. “If Jim Jeffcoat, a mid tier defensive linemen, fell asleep during a team meeting, he was likely to get released and be out of a job. If Emmitt Smith, a Hall of Famer and the all-time leading rusher in NFL history, fell asleep during a team meeting, well then, it was nap time.”

I enjoy his sense of humor. Not sure how the guy manages to roid out and still come to fight with the “jelly belly”. In such a competitive sport, everyone wants an edge on their opponent. I’m not sure what the solution to this is, aside from having a “roid class” and a “non-roid class”.

Anderson Silva is without a doubt the G.O.A.T. and best P4P to which there's no debate. People may try but they'll lose! You are clueless.

Two of those losses were anything but conclusive. One was right after Barnett had a classic back and forth battle with Minotauro. Then he faced a fairly fresh Mirko that had just decapitated Wandy.

The other lasted less than a minute and it ended when Barnett suffered a shoulder injury.

I don’t remember being bias towards Zuffa though… I guess people that recognize the better company is a nut hugger right cause that’s not a cop out reply to a statement you can’t argue against.

Also, you brought up Nog and just like Cro Cop… who has he beat lately? Don’t avoid the issue man and maybe you won’t hold ill feelings towards me when you lose a debate. Barnett hasn’t fought anybody in years, prove me wrong instead of avoiding the issues and name calling cause I promise you’ll lose there as well. lol

I guess not giving credit to guys like Pedro Rizzo and Jeff Monson in this day in age makes somebody a Zuffa lover or a hater? :P

you do realize he was talking about PAST performances since you brought up the PAST when you started talking about him losing to Crocop

You brought up him losing to crocop way back when and he explained to you how that happened. He wasn’t talking about what Nog or Crocop have done recently since you weren’t talking about that. You were talking about the past and now your asking what have they both done recently. If you’re going to debate atleast know what you’re debating about it sounds like you confused yourself

by SamoanIrishMonster on May 10, 2011 1:38 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

No shit he was talking about past fights...

I’m talking about those guys he fought not doing good today so it’s likely that he wouldn’t either and since he hasn’t been fighting top guys in the last few years it’s highly unlikely… did you miss that or were you pretending that you brought something new to this so called debate? lol

If you love debating then you should at least be good at it and realize when shit has really been mentioned like with what I just said and not focusing on you loving to debate as if it’s the same thing as you being good at it.

Alot of people claim they're not bias but in some way, shape or form we all are to a certain extent.

We can only try to not be and I do a good job of that myself but at the same time everybody focuses on more things about a fighter they like. As for favoring the organization… that’s some cop out shit he tried to put out there when he lost and couldn’t stay on point. Of course these turds don’t like when you call the top company the “top” one which I think is stupid for any MMA fan cause that doesn’t make you a nut hugger for stating a fact, it only makes them a hater for not wanting to believe… wasn’t even about certain fighters cause I acknowledged that. Strictly a company perspective. If I was wrong then UFC wouldn’t have purchased SF and SF wouldn’t fade out in 2 years if not sooner.

I’m sure you’ll remember me though SamoanIrishMonster and I post on here almost daily so feel free to debate with me at any time son. I also enjoy it!

If you think losing to a Prime Cro Cop back then is something to laugh at then please dont watch the Silva vs Ryo Chonan fight

Do you think Silva would still lose to Chonan now? No! Absolutely not! Do you think barnett would lose to the cro cop of now? I don’t think he would. People reach their prime in different stages Silva obviously got better Cro cop obviously got worse. Barnett is questionable but I would say he can’t be any worse than crocop has become. Barnett has always had a good skill set and the tools where he could possibly beat anybody.

Ya see, this is why you'll lose in a "debate" with me Samoan...

Of course Ryo would lose to Silva now! Silva has been destroying far better. So if Barnett lost not once like Silva did to Ryo but 3 times to Cro Cop and hasn’t been fighting top guys lately unlike Silva then how can you pretend he’s still a top fighter let alone comparing him to Anderson’s situation? It’s not like Barnett lost to Cro Cop once and then destroyed Cain, Carwin, Fedor and so on in the last few years. Get it? lol

Unfortunately you dont get my point

I’m saying that we don’t know how well he will do but I’m pretty sure it won’t be as bad as crocop. You can’t base how he will do from fights long ago and just because he lost to a fighter more than once back in the day that doesn’t mean he would now. Look at Rampage vs Silva for example. He got the shit kicked out of him twice and Rampage knocked him out in the 3rd match. Rampage got better Silva got much slower with his reaction time. Look at crocop he looks like shit now he’s absolutely not in his prime. Crocop was the man back in the day if you think he’s the same that he was back then now then I can’t help you. Does that mean Barnett is going to perform worse than him? Not necessarily. Like I said if you seen his fights he does have a great skill set that could cause anyone problems.
