More Brazilian flavor.

UFC 134: "Rio" has added yet another match-up featuring a prominent fighter from Brazil for its upcoming event on August 27 in Rio de Janiero, as Paulo Thiago will take on David Mitchell in a welterweight tilt.

Sherdog.com was alerted to the news by Thiago himself, who had this to say:

"I'm signing my contract right now and I'm very happy. Fighting in Brazil again is like a dream. All my friends and family will be in Rio de Janeiro."

Despite a unanimous decision loss to Jon Fitch at UFC 100, The Brazilian supercop was in cruise control for the better part of his UFC career.

That's until a pesky Dane named Martin Kampmann refused to lay down for him at UFC 115 back in June 2010. "The Hitman" outclassed his Brazilian foe for the better part of three rounds and cooled off some of the heat surrounding Thiago's place in the division.

On top of that, he dropped his next bout against Diego Sanchez after a spirited three-round war.

Time to get back on the hog in his hometown.

Don't know who David Mitchell is? You're not the only one.

"Daudi" is a former Tachi Palace Fights welterweight champion who sports an impressive 11-1 record, including nine submission victories. His lone defeat came at the hands of TJ Waldburger in his Octagon debut just last September.

He was originally slated to make his return to action back in January at the "Fight for the Troops 2" event against Mike Swick; however, that turned out to be nothing more than a modified clusterfuck after Swick's pesky health issues reared their ugly head once again.

No such issues with Thiago. Game on.

UFC 134: "Rio" is set for August 27, 2011, and will feature Middleweight Champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva defending his title in a long-awaited rematch against the last man to defeat him in mixed martial arts, Yushin "Thunder" Okami.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will also fight for the first time since losing the light heavyweight title when he takes on former champion Forrest Griffin in a rematch of their UFC 76 bout.

Stay tuned to MMAmania.com for future updates on this still developing fight card.
