Rampage

Wrestling standout Matt Hamill attempted 17 takedowns during his main event fight against Quinton Jackson at UFC 130 on May 28 in Las Vegas. He was successful approximately zero times, according to the fine folks at Fight Metric. Only the 2008 Detroit Lions know failure on a level that massive.

If that was Diego Sanchez instead of Matt Hamill, he would have won the fight. :)

The people have voted and popular opinion declares that Anderson Silva is not only the P4P king but also the GOAT!

The Jon Jones / Rashad Evans situation can be compared to a man who remembers when his older brother used to get the better of him but now that he is grown can take him but still has that bit of fear and respect for his older bro even though he's above him now.

so who said hammill

Was gonna win?? Lolololol

Mauro: "Theres a left by Jackson…. or make that Randleman, sorry!"
Rampage: "Thats alright, all black folks look alike."

by Rampagelangford on May 29, 2011 6:10 AM EDT via mobile reply actions

agreed

that makes no sense to me. I guess people actually did think that beating Tito and Jardine made him worthy of fighting an elite fighter.

That being said, Jones is going to crush Page. It won’t even be close.

Yes.

Jones will fucking DESTROY rampage.

Ya, I thought Hamill would have won Lololol...

Definitely deserved the win more than howling retard, Jackson. He’s a funny guy, but other than that he can suck it. He lost to Evans (awesome) and lost against Machida imo. Trust me, Jackson’s going down soon, and I’ll be there to laugh at his misfortune. He couldn’t even KO Hamill, who looked like crap to me. Jackson’s gonna go down with a frown, and then go to Hollywood, where he belongs…Awhooooooo!!!

Nick Diaz vs. GSP? Sure, let's watch Diaz get his ass handed to him. Diaz should fight Diego Sanchez!!!! If Nick can beat Diego, then he deserves a shot at GSP.

hate much?

Hammill deserved the win more than Rampage? Huh? Because beating Tito and Jardine was worthy of facing a top 5 guy?

Somebody likes to judge fights on personalities and not actual fighting ability.

by Ulf Murphy on May 29, 2011 7:43 AM EDT up reply actions

No, no...I just don't like Rampage's attitude, and I don't think he deserves

to win…That’s all. Especially after staling the fight against Machida. Just my opinion. Hamill looked like crap. Jackson was the better fighter.

Nick Diaz vs. GSP? Sure, let's watch Diaz get his ass handed to him. Diaz should fight Diego Sanchez!!!! If Nick can beat Diego, then he deserves a shot at GSP.

But it's like I said, he's going down soon, and I can't wait.

Plus losing to Rashad, and then “beating” Machida really means nothing to me as a fan.

Can’t really HATE him due to his funny ass humor, but I WILL enjoy watching him go down in flames. T’will be awesome…O.

Oh get over the Machida fight.

Machida only went on the offence once the whole fight, Page blocked most of the strikes and you blame Rampage for the judges “gifting” it to Rampage. It’s not like Page was slipping the judges Benjamins in-between rounds.

It's not like it wasn't a close fight

That was not robbery by any stretch of the imagination.

i was about to say Rampage won't get ko'd then i was like

Wand, Rua ohhhhhhhhhh shit. Being a Page fan hard to admit it but i don’t see a way Rampage can pull it off, unless he lands a bomb on jones

Ya I thot hamill cud pull it off even put my points him.

fuck it..

I’ll step out of the internet ether & confess I thought Hammill had a slim but very real chance of taking Rampage down based on his training attitude for the last few years, but I guess that talk about him actually training and taking Matt as a credible threat was more than just talk…I haven’t seen the fight yet, and never had anything against Rampage besides him seeming unmotivated the last few years and being a Waste of my PPV money. He hadn’t seem “up” for a fight since the Wanderlei bout imo. But I’ll say I’m still a Matt Hammill fan regardless, he came up short and shit happens sometimes, but he also step up and asked for one of the toughest match ups in the sport, unfortunately it sounds like his opponent actually showed up.

I agree with everything u said

Couldnt get behind an unmotivated Rampage but he proved me wrong. Hopefully, for his own sake, he stays in shape in between fights and can take his next one quick, if it’s not in fact Jones which will be sometime in October

losers make excuses, winners make it happen...

by Wingblade on May 29, 2011 2:05 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Sad. Very sad.

Hamill’s takedowns were not good at all. I thought that he would have figured out how to take people down w/o being obvious, at this point. Now, I will almost always root against Jackson.

Jackson vs. Shogun!! make it happen!

Nick Diaz vs. GSP? Sure, let's watch Diaz get his ass handed to him. Diaz should fight Diego Sanchez!!!! If Nick can beat Diego, then he deserves a shot at GSP.

Shoguns fighting Forrest in Brazil.

I say Page gets winner if he doesn’t get Jones.

by jestermarcus on May 29, 2011 11:46 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

maybe we'll finally stop hearing about how 'world class' Hamill's wrestling is and realize

that he is an average MMA wrestler who has been out-wrestled now by Jones and Rampage.

by T.P. Grant on May 29, 2011 11:15 AM EDT reply actions

Not a fan of rampage

But he put on a great performance. After the first stuffed takedown it was obvious who was winning the fight. But as good as rampage is, I think he proved he’s not the world beating KO artist everyone thinks he is.
