It might not be all doom-and-gloom, after all.
The ratings are in for episode eight of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 13 and while they aren't exactly pretty, they are an improvement over last weeks series low. According to numbers released today by Spike TV, the latest episode garnered a 1.12 household rating (including a 1.1 in males 18-49 as well as a 1.14 in males 18-34) for an average audience of 1.2 million viewers.
See? It's not so bad.
That's with heavy competition from the NBA playoffs, which featured game two of the Miami Heat vs. Chicago Bulls series on TNT.
But will the numbers start to fall now that Brock Lesnar has been forced to pull out of his scheduled UFC 131 bout against fellow coach Junior dos Santos after a second bout with diverticulitis? When will the curiosity wear off?
Here's how the numbers stack up to date.
Episode 1: 1.5 million viewers
Episode 2: 1.2 million viewers
Episode 3: 1.3 million viewers
Episode 4: 1.3 million viewers
Episode 5: 1.5 million viewers
Episode 6: 1.2 million viewers
Episode 7: 1.0 million viewers
Episode 8: 1.2 million viewers
Eight episodes down, just two to go.
TUF 13 episode eight saw two quarterfinal elimination bouts, with Ramsey Nijem choking out Clay Harvison and Chris Cope bringing home a decision over Shamar Bailey.
Oh, and Brian Stann made a cameo. Woo hoo!
