The official weigh-in event for Bellator 44 took place today (May 13, 2011) in advance of tomorrow night's card, which airs live on MTV2 at 9 p.m. ET, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Of the 16 fighters who weighed in, 15 successfully made weight. Former WEC fighter Anthony Morrison lived up to his "Cheesesteak" nickname by coming in a whopping 10.5-pounds. over the 136-pound limit for his bantamweight tournament qualifier match with Bryan Goldsby.
That fight has now been cancelled, according to Sherdog.com.
Headlining the main event will be the final "super-fight" of season four as Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard looks to feast on UFC veteran Falaniko Vitale. Lombard has a penchant for ending these non-title affairs very quickly.
Also on the card will be the finals of the season four lightweight tournament as Missouri standout wrestler Michael Chandler squares off against Brazilian knockout artist Patricky "Pitbull" Freire.
Two season five eliminator bouts will also be on the table as Bellator season two middleweight tournament winner Alexander "Storm" Shlemenko matches up with veteran Brett Cooper and bantamweights Bryan Goldsby and Anthony Morrison compete for a spot in the bantamweight tournament..
Complete Bellator 44 weigh in results after the jump.
185 lbs.: Hector Lombard (185) vs. Falaniko Vitale (185.5)
155 lbs.: Patricky Freire (155) vs. Michael Chandler (156)

*There's no way the commission will allow Morrison to lose 9.5 lbs. in two hours. He will have to forfeit a portion of his fight purse to Goldsby
**Leone still had his shorts on when he weighed in so he should be fine.
