What a life man

by PML on Apr 9, 2011 9:06 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

thats not the point

the point, as usual with dana white is, why say ‘You won’t be seeing Dana White cageside at Strikeforce’, and then he does on the first event since?

WHY EVEN SAY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?

He probably meant

Doing interviews, getting into the ring, stealing the spotlight and so on. That kind of stuff.

Dana Haters

They can’t distinguish between somebody possibly having a counter argument and somebody who globs on the guys nuts.

Hahaha, nah but I don’t mind the guy, he’s a business man. And compared to most out there, he’s fairly honest. Course that says more about the rest of the CEO’s and presidents out there than it does about him frankly.

by jestermarcus on Apr 9, 2011 10:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Dana is a chameleon.

He has no loyalty to anything or anyone and will say whatever he feels at the time, and 3 days later go back on those words.

“Kimbo Slice is garbage, no way he would ever fight in the UFC”

“Strikeforce is Strike farce, and Scott Coker is an idiot”

“Paul Daley will never work for Zuffa again”.

The Dana lovers idolize him because they want that lifestyle of being around the fighters and at the live events. I can understand that. But he is a man of no conviction and no morality.

I know the hate will be spewed my way, but I don’t care, I cannot stand El Blanco.

So I guess that makes everything ok?

Let’s throw out some other catchphrases that nicely gloss things over:

“Don’t leave it in the hands of the judges”

“Shit happens”

“That’s life”

I personally like critically analyzing what happens around me, not just letting it pass off as acceptable.

by judomania on Apr 10, 2011 12:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Critically analyzing only works if it doesn't begin with an already biased opinion.

You are obviously a Dana Hater, so you are no better than the Dana lovers. You pick and choose what he does to form your opinion while completely forgetting he is a BUSINESS MAN. His job is to ensure Zuffa and their endeavors succeed. His job isn’t to please you, go to Burger King if you want it your way.

by jestermarcus on Apr 10, 2011 12:32 AM EDT up reply actions

Hmm, critical analysis means looking at things critically

So analyzing and seeing the entire picture, not just what is presented on the surface. The poinion is not biased, it is fact. He talks trash about everyand anyone who poses any threat to him. He has no ability for diplomacy and he acts all badass when it’s really his fiends who propped him up. You would think that a guy like that would have more modesty, but I guess not.

And as a fan who drops coin on pay per views for 8 years now, and who watches TUF, his job is exactly to please people like me. And that’s what he claims to do, but if we are being honest, he oversells and underdelivers on a consistent basis.

He has loyalty to those that employ him.

Kimbo Slice is garbage, had his chance, and was sent on his way.

DW has said repeatedly that Kimbo’s devotion and work ethic are what really got him in the UFC finally but his skills couldn’t keep him there.

A business man talkng down about a rival company, wow that’s definitely something we have never heard of.

Dana had to honor the contract that Daley already had. This is about the dumbest argument of the whole post and you are really reaching on this one.

And just because we don’t hate him, doesn’t mean we love him, nor do i give a rats ass about his lifestyle or how he lives his life. If somebody envies DW, that is their problem.

by jestermarcus on Apr 10, 2011 12:39 AM EDT up reply actions

How much of his payroll are you on?

And who else do you make excuses for?

I don’t understand this blind devotion that folks like you have to a guy who shows no loyalty to anyone. If you so much as disagreed with him on whether a paint can was white or mother of pearl, he’d be sending f*bombs your way via his Twitter page and calling you a d bag.

I would love to see Lorenzo do that job instead because at least he has some manners and decency, and he showed a willingness to bury the hatchet when he negotiated Tito’s return to the UFC… though that didn’t go anywhere.

by judomania on Apr 10, 2011 9:09 AM EDT up reply actions

So what if he said that? Maybe he changed his mind? People are allowed to do that. It does happen. Is it really worth complaining about? “OH NO! DANA WHITE IS AT AN EVENT HE CLAIMED THAT HE WOULDN’T GO TO A FEW WEEKS BACK!!! THE SKY IS FALLING! AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”

by RyanHobbs on Apr 9, 2011 10:17 PM EDT up reply actions

He didn’t.

Funny how everything changes. Dana is all about the business, nothing else.

I told you kids Rua was gonna run through Jones, but no one listened. The hype train has made its last stop, and the "mighty" Jon Jones has fallen. Shogun tore him up with his muay thai, and dominated in every aspect of the fight. He came in fully prepared and got the job done, like I knew he would. Still the greatest p4p of all time. And STILL UFC LHW Champ, Mauricio Shogun Rua.

by danago on Apr 9, 2011 8:56 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Dana knows a good show when he sees one!

This acquisition couldn’t come at a better time. Diaz is a stud and Dana’s always liked him.

by Jon Estrada Sr. on Apr 9, 2011 9:08 PM EDT up reply actions

As opposed to?

Maybe all the other guys not “about the business” that are back selling t-shirts or working for him. Why do people act like Dana is supposed to be some benevolent MMA fairy, and not care “about the business”?

the cool thing about this pic is, dana is there dressed casual and with a strikeforce shirt nonetheless as is loerenzo; they are not in their usual suits as they are at UFC events. They seem to be there as fans of the sport and srikeforce and not trying to step to much on Cokers toes and trying to take his limelight in what was his promotion; very cool in my opinion.

anyone think this is like when mcmahon screwed over hitman hart?

maybe daley is supposed to win, and thinks hes going to, but diaz will sub em outta nowhere not as planned (like michaels getting a quick 3 count that hart wasn’t aware of) and then daley will look over at white and spit a loog right in his eye like hart did to vince.

its allllll starting to make sense.

DW's prior comments about SF are completely irrelevant, now that he OWNS Strikeforce

hypocrite? chameleon? no loyalty?

How about: He and the UFC now own their former number 1 competitor, therefore he can attend, promote, lick the nuts of, talk praise or criticize the organization called Strikeforce whichever way he pleases.

It has nothing to do with changing his mind, saying one thing then another… He bought the damn organization. It’s his. This would be an entirely different thing if the UFC and SF “partnered” up or “co-promoted” then it would be valid to call out hypocricy. But it’s clearly not, and the UFC has vested interest and vast monetary gains in the success of however many SF events occur between now and however long they decide keep putting them on, with or without coker.

by blackbiird on Apr 10, 2011 2:47 AM EDT reply actions

Actually that is the definition of hypocrisy,

You say one thing when it doesn’t suit you, then when it does, you change your tune.

The problem is, Dana constantly does this like he’s some sort of moral center, when in fact he is worse than Benedict Arnold.

Successful? No doubt. Ethical? Not even close.

by judomania on Apr 10, 2011 9:26 AM EDT up reply actions

?

He owns SF now. He makes money by pretending to be a fan.

That doesn’t make him a hypocrite.

Believers please keep your religion.....to yourself.

by jay. on Apr 10, 2011 2:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Well jay, I would argue

That pretending to be something you are not, as you have just stated, is the epitome of being a hypocrite.
