Warning issued for the greater Philadelphia area: Two extremely talented wrestlers that have dynamite in their fists will be in the city on and around Aug. 6, 2011.
Hendricks is a good old boy from Oklahoma who cut his teeth in the WEC before moving up to the big leagues back in Aug. 2009 at UFC 101. His Octagon debut coincided with the promotion's first trip to Philly and now, almost two years to the day, he'll make his return.
Throughout that time, the former amateur wrestler compiled an impressive 5-1 record, with the lone loss coming by way of a close decision defeat to the always game Ricky Story.
He got back on the hog just last month, obliterating TJ Waldburger with a sickening first round knockout. He'll look to keep the good times rollin' against Pierce this summer.
Mike Pierce, who wrestled out of Portland State University, is coming in with a nice little three-fight win streak of his own, having dispatched his most recent opponent, Kenny Robertson, via knockout back in Feb. at UFC 126.
"Megatron," whose only loss inside the Octagon came at the hands of perennial welterweight contender Jon Fitch, has quickly made a name for himself as a gritty brawler that the technical chops to back it up.
Sounds like a fun fight.
UFC 133 is quickly filling up with compelling match-ups. The recently announced Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis fight will likely serve as the main event of the evening.
As per usual, keep it locked right here at MMAmania.com for more of this still-developing fight card.
