Anderson "The Spider" Silva
He began his reign as the UFC Middleweight champion on October 14th 2006. Against Rich "Ace" Franklin who was (and still is) one of the most popular fighters in the UFC. Anderson Silva had just recently destroyed Chris "The Crippler" Leben in his UFC debut, landing every single strike he had through. Anderson Silva was highly favored to give Rich "Ace" Franklin his greatest test inside the UFC octagon(which he did). Anderson came out and dominated Franklin from start to finish. Rich didn't make it out of the first round with the Brazilian man who many people weren't familiar with. So there it was the former social studies teacher was destroyed by the man who is today well renowned for being one of the greatest Mixed Martial Arts fighters in the entire world. Anderson Silva has since went 13-0 inside the UFC and hasn't slowed down with his technique one bit.
Anderson Silva is the greatest Middleweight on the planet, and his victory over the top UFC contenders has only brought me to believe that no one can escape the web of Anderson"The Spider" Silva.
This is my tribute to the UFC champion.
