First off let me say that this kid is badass)Jim Miller is currently on a seven fight win streak, with wins over decent competition, Miller is a decent striker with very slick Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Jim Miller's UFC tenure however isn't as impressive as some make it up to be. Millers most recent competition as of late have been Top 20, Top 25 or unranked fighters who all don't stick out to me as impressive. Now before you begin to think that I'm bashing Miller's accomplishment's{Which I'm not} Shoot down to the jump and I will tell you why I don't believe Miller can crack the top 10 ufc lightweights.

Miller has defeated good opposition, but his weaknesses have been exposed, by Lightweight Kingpin Frankie Edgar and Lightweight Top contender Gray Maynard, who are the top 2 lightweights in the world today. Maynard took Miller to the decision after exposing Miller's boxing and only landing one takedown, In the Edgar fight which happen before either of them where relevant in their divisions, was simply Edgar being the better wrestler and having the better stand up technique. Jim Miller has defeated everyone but those two men. Although this leads me to Jim Miller's controversial fights with Mark Bocek and Gleison Tibau(Top 20 and Top 25 ranked lightweights)  In those fights Bocek was able to get Miller to the ground and so was Tibau, both avoided the submission attempts of Miller and where doing effective on their stand up techniques, but Miller hit Tibau with hard shots and solid kickboxing throughout the entire fight. I do believe Miller won the Tibau fight, but the grappling and close stand up in the Bocek fight lead me to rethink how far Miller could go in the Division.

On the upside of things Jim Miller's last fight was a domination over tough wrestler Kamal Shalorus, Miller crushed Shalorus with and knee and followed up with punches. Miller's finishes in the UFC have been great, and all highlight reel material. I believe Miller should have his skills tested by someone in the top 10 or 15, such as Sean Sherk or Nik Lentz.

Sherk has lost some of his luster over the years but if he can get Miller to the ground, how in the hell will Miller catch or reverse him. I see Miller winning a controversial decision over Sherk. As far as Nik Lentz is concerned, he could create a lay n pray problem for Miller, but I see Miller winning that in a clear cut Unanimous Decision victory.

Miller can give anyone at 155 at legitimate test, with his ever improving skill set, I think Miller can crack the Top 10 if he continues to improve but he may have problems with the more equip strikers or  the division who can avoid takedowns( Guillard, Pettis and Barboza providing he shows great tdd against a wrestler)

Can Jim Miller crack the UFC's top 10 lightweight? Have at it Maniacs! Fc128jmiltkoksha_medium
