Nick Thompson, following a unanimous decision loss to Ben Askren at Bellator 40 on April 9, 2011, has retired from the sport of MMA. He announced as much on The Underground forum. "The Goat," a veteran of Strikeforce and the UFC, leaves the game after four consecutive losses and will exit with a final career mark of 38-14-1 at the age of 29.
