Matt Lindland is being sued for allegedly stealing six mature marijuana plants in Oregon, according to wweek.com. The suit seeks $122,880 for the missing weed, which "The Law" reportedly helped harvest and store in a shed on his property.

We can grow over here in Australi – cops turn a blind eye… If someone steals plants they either get a shotty in the back or when the pigs catch up to them just do them for possession…
Man the US is a crazy place sometimes… 122k for 6 plants… man you’d be lucky to even gross 3 or 4 lbs out of that if they are huge…
Dont know the price of bud over there on a big scale but over here lookin at 1800 per 1 pound

not only weed plants here that hold value.
my buddy ran his truck off the road years ago into a vineyatd and took out 20+ grapevines. The vineyard wanted $15k per vine, saying that they were mature vines that put out a lot of grapes year after year. His insurance co and the vineyard settled out of court. But grapevines grow grapes year after year. Once you harvest a pot plant it’s done. You may have some good seeds but the plant is history.

It's fair i think for vines...
They mature over hundreds of years and really create a distinct flavour coming from that region which goes into the wine… I understand 15k each one – It’s big business wine!
But a bit of pot… a few plants… Sheez! A couple of mates were in LA and got done with an ounce on them – Had to go to court but the judge threw it out because they were from over here! ha! He knew we have much more laxed laws about it all

i got busted at the oakland airport. got me in that special line where they search the fuck out of you and had a half ounce in my pants. got a ticket, still made my flight, went to court, got sentenced to a 45 min drug prevention class (right after my court appearance), charges dropped, no fine, record of the arrest erased. it’s legal to grow here if you get a card. each cardholder can grow up to 77 plants and you may have 3 cardholders combine their operations so you may have 231 plants in one location. we don’t give a fuck about weed in Cali.

6 plants will NOT yield 3 or 4 lbs
Lucky if one indoor plants yields 2-3 oz. So maybe a little over a lb realistically.

Everyone smokes weed in Oregon
It is just part of the culture. It is legal for medical use if you have a card and if you possess a small amount is just an infraction. I believe Oregon is working on a bill to legalize marijuana similar to the bill the was presented to Cali last year. And with Oregon’s climate…even being indoor plants, they are yielding a lot more than you expect.

This case is really just extortion.
In Oregon, patients own all of the marijuana and marijuana plants being grown. The grower can only be reimbursed for supplies and utilities. It is optional for the patient to even reimburse any costs and the law specifically states that growers may not be compensated for their labor. The guy bringing the suit was a registered grower, not the patient, so he has no legal basis to the plants. Thus, this case is going nowhere. The lawyer was hoping to make a quick buck by threatening to go public and now is hoping that Lindland will pay something to make this go away, but the Law isn’t one to take extortion lightly and will go to court and get this claim dismissed.
