End of the draw? One more round!

Anyone else here think they should scrap draws and make it compulsory to have a winner in every fight?

As the T-shirts say, 'One more round!'

Why not have a deciding round and always have a winner in the event of a draw? No one ever seems happy with a draw, except of course the person who was losing the fight only to see their efforts 'rewarded' with a draw. Frankie Edgar was dominated in the 1st against Maynard, came back and scrapped his way to a deserved draw. Yet he was absolutely gutted with the decision. So was Maynard for that matter. BJ Penn was in a career defining match (according to him anyway), and he was in a draw when Fitch grounded a late decision to secure a draw. Penn was clearly not happy with a draw, and I'm pretty sure Fitch was none to happen about it too. This was after all, a number 1 contenders match. Back to the drawing board for this.

Granted, this isnt going to be the most in depth post you will ever read. But how about a bit of WWE style.(Sigh, I know)

When Shawn Micheals fought Bret Hart in an ironman match,it was a draw after the hour. It was then announced that ''This fight is a draw and will therefore continue until we have a winner''. Would  an announcement like that by Bruce Buffer not be welcomed by the fans. The chants and statements of t-shirts would be answered. ''One more round, One more round''! Like the proverbial demands at the end of any good concert, ''We want one more''! And I for one say give it to them. Surely another two minutes of preperation, five mins of fighting, and another five for anouncment of the definitive winner is feasible, even on a five round championship bout. Almost every event has about 20-25 mins air-time left anyway.

Nothing wrong with rematches and rubber matches, but why not always have a winner. Granted cardio might have a big say if there was to be a championship 6th round, but how exciting and tense would that round be? All or nothing round,do or die, champ or chump round. Surely it would be great for the fans. No question marks as to who is the deserved champion, who the real winner is. Who is defined as the actual number one contender. Anyone else here like to see ''One more round''?

That was my 1st, and most probably last blog. So any maniacs agree and think that I'm onto to something. Or do you maniacs just think I'm on something. Yup, I'm talkin through my gas departure. Two cents from you guys welcomed.
