Is this the man who will finally dethrone the longtime welterweight champion at UFC 129 on April 30 in Toronto?
"To become the UFC welterweight champion would mean everything to me. It's what I've spent my last 11 years pursuing with all my energy. It's something I plan on doing April 30.
"I want to be the best. Can't say you're the best if you're not beating the best and GSP has shown he deserves all the respect and credit he's getting, that's why I want to fight him. A lot of people are expecting me to lose but I have no intentions of doing that.
"I've been wanting to fight GSP for years. You know, I've been in these other shows and heard everyone saying 'GSP, GSP,' saying he's the greatest when I'm over, you know, when I was over in EliteXC beating everyone else, when I was in Strikeforce beating everyone else, Rumble on the Rock and everyone kept talking about GSP. But I kept winning and winning and beating good competition. I have been looking at this guy wanting to fight him for years, so to finally have this opportunity; this is exactly what I'm looking for.
"I'm thinking about going out there and beating him, you know, and they can boo me or cheer me, whatever happens, but I'm going out there to beat GSP."
