Sometimes history has a way of repeating itself.
That was the case earlier tonight (March 3) when Brian Bowles rematched Damacio Page in the opening fight of the night for the UFC on Versus 3 network television event from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Bowles, out of action for nearly a year due to broken appendages, survived a frenzied onslaught from his bantamweight foe to once again submit "The Angel of Death" via guillotine choke.
The finish was a carbon copy of their first meeting that took place under the WEC banner back in 2008, when Page came out strong (like he did tonight) but quickly found himself being strangled with no hope of escape.
Two fights under two different promotions with each of them ending at 3:30 of the very first round via guillotine choke. It may not win "Submission of the Night," but that kind of feat deserves some kind of recognition.
Either way, Brian Bowles is back with a vengeance. And don't think the rest of the UFC bantamweight division hasn't taken notice.
Isn't that correct, Mr. Cruz?
