Jon "bad to the Bone"  Jones

When you think back to when a fighter manged to justify all the hype surrounding him you only have to go back to 2009 when the undefeated Lyoto Machida went on a tear capping off that run with the LHW title.  Just two years later Jon Jones is seemingly invincible as the NEw lightheavyweight champion.  And although Machida and Jones may have had similar paths in thier respective quests they couldnt be more dissimilar.

Out of machidas first five UFC bouts 4 were won  by unanimous decision to the likes of hoger, nakamura and david heath a few of which were unimpressive.  His unique style had fans polarized some describing it as elusive and effective while many others disliking it as hesitant to commit and not fan friendly.

Mr Jones on the other hand has only needed the judges twice in his 8 UFC bouts.  All 7 wins have been impressive to say the least with jones employing techniques and manuevers MMA fans have never seen within the 8 sided proving ground.  He moves forward and is willing to engage with a diversified offense leaving opponents frustrated and overmatched.  If Anderson silva is the consensus p4p fighter then where does that leave Jon who has many of the same skills in addition to elite level wrestling.  Just to be clear I wanted shogun to knock Jon Jones head off but there is no denying that Jones will dominate fighters of all weights for many years unlike his predecesor Lyoto.  I have never seen the likes of jones, he has it all The size the reach the lengthy body type the strong wrestling  etc. etc. etc.  He is the new breed of fighters that will carry the sport into the next decade.

AFter he makes the rest of the LHW contenders look like ametures like he did to shogun I believe he will be the first fighter ever to hold both the lhw & hw belts simultaneously.  Not only that but I believe Mr Jones can defeat any current HW (Valasquez, alistar, fedor).  I may not be a full JJ fan yet but I have no choice but to respect him for his remarkable skill and ability.

There is NO bigger fight in MMA right now than Jon Jones vs Anderson Silva.  But I dont think he or his manager wants anything to do with a true mma prodigy in Jones
