Rampage is going to destroy you.

He’s the only man at 205 who has a chance this heavyweight. I hate to say it but jones would make Anderson look silly and wreck his legacy.

Jones wrestling defense from the clinch is very good, he’s very strong and has good hands. Do you really want to see rashad fight jones? Think about that for a moment and get back, I’m already calling for Jones to fight hw.

Shogun Rua p4p best, I called it.

Awww is little danago crasping straws now...

yup that what you said about shogun and look what happen. Srry Jones is going to destroy rampage all the same

Jon Jones P4P BEST right after Anderson Silva......

by TheSpiderWin on Mar 20, 2011 11:47 AM EDT up reply actions

Agree with your quote man...

but also danago is crazy. Jones will Destroy Rampage no problem. That’s that delusional fanboy thinking taking you from reality. This fight against Shogun should have been your wake up call.

Anderson Silva is without a doubt the G.O.A.T. and best P4P to which there's no debate. People may try but they'll lose! GSP hasn't done what Silva has in 2 weight classes plus can't finish people in his own division who haven't moved up from LW. Fedor has less names on his padded resume and was once the top HW but then ducked the best and lost to guys who are barely top 10. Anderson is the G.O.A.T. no matter what the haters who boo him say. They used to boo Ali too.

Why would you want Jones at HW?

Yeah with the rise of Cain and JDS it has become much more interesting but the top tier is still half as deep as LHW. If Jones can keep making the cut I want him to stay at LHW. Soo many more top fighters there.

by Roa on Mar 20, 2011 10:06 AM EDT up reply actions

So many more fighters who are at much bigger disadvantages

In terms of size and skill matchups. JDS or Cain vs Jones sounds much better and It think he’d still be similar in size to JDS.

Can you imagine Shogun vs JDS?
Jones at 205 is better for him, but not for the fans.

by grapplefan on Mar 20, 2011 10:37 AM EDT up reply actions

Oh come on.

Jones v Carwin or Jones v Lesner would be even worse.

Being able to cut more weight while retaining your potency than your opponent is just another physical advantage. Jones is freakishly athletic, deal with it. It isn’t unfair in the slightest because in the modern MMA world all fighters cut weight to gain that advantage.

by Roa on Mar 20, 2011 11:04 AM EDT up reply actions

i agree with roa why should he go up to hw ? if the other fighters at lhw are too small then they need to go down a wieght he is winning were he is why should he go up a wieght lol he only just ghot the belt

by cboyer on Mar 20, 2011 11:45 AM EDT up reply actions

I'm not saying that he should go, but your original question was

Why would you want Jones at HW. For me, there’s better matchups to watch and talk about which is better for the fans. He’s bigger than Cain and it’s not like he’s not talented so it’s not an unreasonable suggestion.

by grapplefan on Mar 20, 2011 1:25 PM EDT up reply actions

so danago..

why dont u avenge ur master and fight bones jones urself?

u have a black belt so it should be easy.

"Hey dude, were a.. you know MMA guys."

If I heard someone say that shit to me I’d slap them upside the head.

It’s the ghetto stupid. You worry about stabbings, not fist fights.

pretty cool story and just underscores bones charisma and likability

Plus, he’s the first person to go 2-0 in one night in the UFC since what, UFC 17? ;)

by Fulch on Mar 20, 2011 10:11 AM EDT reply actions

Yup

He’s finished Oliveira and Kalarous … and he still might get Fitched!

by grapplefan on Mar 20, 2011 10:38 AM EDT up reply actions

Not as much as Pettis/Guida, Maynard.

I’d give him Guillard and then the winner gets the loser of Pettis/Guida before a title shot.

by Roa on Mar 20, 2011 11:07 AM EDT up reply actions

He deserves one more than Pettis imo

But Pettis is a champ so I wouldn’t be against it if he beats Guida. One factor with Jim Miller is that the fight with Mark Bocek was controversial, but that was a while ago now I think.

this smells like total bullshit

a PR stunt if i ever heard one…seriously…that photo had tracy lee’s name on it…so she just ’happened" to be there? covering footage of bones pre fight meditating, i take it? where the hell are those photos, then?

"eat shit." billions of flies cant be wrong

by salamagogo on Mar 20, 2011 10:43 AM EDT reply actions

yeah I am curious about how tracy lee got there so fast.

It looked like something from a cell phone. maybe she bought the pic from someone there and passed it off as her own? lol

jon jones is going to be a great champion

He has the charisma and charm and will be easy for the ufc to market him. His star status is going to rise fast. Maybe now that he is champ and he is from new york he might be able to help get mma become legal there now. I cant hurt anyway.

by #1 piggy on Mar 20, 2011 10:44 AM EDT reply actions

Well, he has to part the Red Sea first and then turn water into wine.

Wow, the Jones hype just keeps on going.

Here’s what I think: he’s at the toughest weight division in the entire sport. His head keeps getting bigger.

I don’t see him holding the belt very long.

by judomania on Mar 20, 2011 11:05 AM EDT up reply actions

Man as much as I do not care for his holier than thou attitude and his fake humbleness also still upset he destroyed one of my favorite fighters last night, I gotta admit I was really entertained by that story and came away thinking this cat is going to be a major major star someday……as in potential super star in the way MMA has not seen yet. The sky is really the limit for this kid, and kid is what he is……only 23 and already this high on the charts of potential and having accomplished this much already.

……..BUT………I heard you cursing like hell MR.Bones on DW’s latest video blog……..lil baby jebus is gonna be mad!! lol

by Modusopks on Mar 20, 2011 11:59 AM EDT reply actions

The new age is coming. The majority of the champions are either under 25 or have had less than 15 fights in their careers.

MMA is bursting with potential. With guys like Aldo and Jones leading the charge we are on the verge of a huge burst in popularity. If the NFL actually suffers a lockout next season MMA could erupt onto the major stage. (ESPN has slowly been coming around and without Monday Night Football they’ll need another big draw and MMA can be it)

by Roa on Mar 20, 2011 12:48 PM EDT up reply actions

LOL fawk.

that’s hilarious. Jones haters keep hating. Like how some of you are now doubting this story as well, actually I don’t… you’re all pathetic :\
