Bjorn Rebney thinks you can enjoy Bellator 37 AND UFC 128 tonight (March 19)

Criticism has been heaped at the folks who run Bellator, the de facto number two promotion in the world after the UFC's purchase of Strikeforce, for running a show tonight (March 19), the same night as UFC 128.
"Shogun vs. Jones" has taken more than the lion's share of attention for weeks now and it's actually a possibility that you may not even realize Bellator is running an event tonight.
Bjorn Rebney, chairman and CEO of the company, doesn't see why fans can't enjoy both shows, though (via Sherdog.com):
"While both shows are MMA, they are different formats. MMA fans will get will get something totally unique and different from 7:00 to 9:00. In my opinion, MMA's the greatest sport on earth, so I think five hours of world class MMA is a very good thing. Fans can tune in for free on MTV2 from 7:00 to 9:00 and watch four great fights in the quarterfinals of our featherweight tournament featuring, Patricio ‘Pitbull,' Eric Larkin, Georgi [Karakhanyan], Wilson [Reis], Daniel [Straus], etc., and then pay for what looks like it could be a great show on pay-per-view with the UFC."
So what's your plan for tonight, Maniacs? Are you tuning in to Bellator 37 before switching over to UFC 128? Or are you saving your energy for the big show and planning on catching a few highlights of the MTV2 broadcast?

my plan is to record bellator and watch it 2morrow. Instead I am going to watch the pride fighting marathon today on spike and then the ufc unleashed mini marathon and then watch the prelims on facebbook then the prelims on spike and then buy ufc 128 tonight with my wifee. Its going to be a great day.!!!!!!

I got some long lame ass work meeting that I don’t even get paid for. I’m so tempted to tell them I can’t go. I hope they would understand with all the MMA going on tonight.

it's how i watch all events. no cable, no tv, no friends, no anything.
so i’ll watch it tomorrow. far from ufc fantasticness my saturday consists of painting the kitchen and trying to think of what snacks i want for watching the ppv tomorrow
on a bellator note, i watched last week’s, i don’t know why i find the presentation so hard to watch. maybe it’s the mtv factor.

I think its because it is no in high def.
i watch it but a friend of mine who is a huge mma fan will not watch any shows that are not in high def period.
hahaha he's a snob! i used to watch old prides on aful ntsc to pal converted vhs tapes when i was a kid in england
so quality i can get round. besides i watch them all on my shitty laptop. i dunno why it is. i watch mfc, xfc, shark fights when i can get them. it’s just bellator i find myself flipping through. maybe it’s the commentators.

I put on DVR, watch about 5 minutes, come to Mania and see if there is a fight I NEED to see, then delete Bellator.
I have become a UFC snob.
soon it'll be the only game in town so you don't have much choice
i mean strikeforce now is “ufc” in waiting
the fights i want to see i could never get to download. alverez v heurta, heurta v curran, lombard, any alverez fight. and the odd ones i used to get were these weird 30 minute shows with speeded up and edited fights. i tried to watch last weeks full event and just couldn’t get into it. no feeling of investment in the fighters. i mean if mfc and xfc can make me route for people, bellator should be able too. it’s a fucking tournament, how can you produce a tournament which isn’t accessable?

I been saying he's a douche for a while now.
and people didn’t believe me. Maybe he wasn’t but I’m sure think he is now and I can argue that point pretty decent. I don’t like Shogun but I want him to win pretty bad.
