In response to the lone question he was asked at the post-fight press conference:
"I didn't care, I just wanted to win a fight. I hadn't done that in a year and it seemed like a good thing to do. If you want to be a professional fighter in the UFC, you should probably at least win a fight a year. That was my goal. So I'm already good for the year."
It's easy to forget that Forrest Griffin made a successful return to action last night (Feb. 5) at UFC 126: "Silva vs. Belfort" in Las Vegas by taking a unanimous decision win over Rich Franklin in the co-main event of the evening. After all, the fight was sandwiched in between Jon Jones dominant win over Ryan Bader (which earned him a title shot against Mauricio Rua in six weeks at UFC 128) and Anderson Silva defending his middleweight title with a front kick knockout of Vitor Belfort in the main event. It was a rather pedestrian affair between the two former champions but Forrest doesn't care; he's just glad he's finally won a fight for the first time since Nov., 2009. Now it's time for you Maniacs to play Monday matchmaker. Who's next for Griffin?
