Cheick Kongo would 'gladly' accept a fight against Matt Mitrione

Quoteworthy:

"[Matt Mitrione] is a favorite of mine in the UFC, a great guy. I met him several times, he came off as a good person, the type of guy I like in life and as a fighter. If the UFC offered me this [match-up], I would gladly take it."

The love-fest that Matt Mitrione started with his overly complimentary assessment of Cheick Kongo is now in full swing, as the Frenchman was quick to return the favor. "Meathead" initially brought up the idea of a match-up between the two because he thought a fight against a "legendary" striker like Kongo would be a grand old time. He proceeded to talk about how polite the Wolfslair product is and how he's such a cool guy (puke). The kickboxer echos those sentiments and says he's down to throw leather against the streaking heavyweight slugger. For what it's worth, the report mentions Shane Carwin and Ben Rothwell as possible opponents for Kongo. So you've got three choices, Maniacs. Which one is the most interesting?

Seriously

Kongo used to be fun to watch when he had the killer instinct on his feet, and he’d let his hands go. After Mir of all people rocks him, he wants to take every striker to the ground. That Paul Buentello fight was bullshit. If we knew he was just gonna take the headhunter to the ground, Dana would not have set that up.

Well, then again, Dana does have a grudge on Paul for not extending his contract after the Pitbull fight, and we see how he keeps pitting Mark Hunt against guys who will never exchange with him in a million years, but I digress.

Kongo lost me after the Buentello fight, where he got schooled on the feet by a fatass.

Why noy just say you’d buy his action figure, his shirt, give him a percentage of your purse, let him watch you train, live in your house, sleep on the couch while he has your bed….Kongo go suck on a dick

Kongo might be gay

I know he’s had a thing with Bisping for a long time, maybe he’s tired of him and wants a new boytoy?

Anyway, Kongo is getting destroyed by Carwin next, Mitrione can have whats left of Kongo after that.

I dont know how Kongo got himself a fight with Carwin.

Maybe Dana just wants to give Carwin an easy win to get back in title contention.

I see Carwin finishing Kongo with short uppercuts against the fence while Kongo attempts some durty knees.

Fighting solves everything.

I would be interested in seeing that.

If Carwin does not finish him in the first, how well will he perform after that. He was also rocked by Gonzaga (who is his biggest win), even though he recovered, I would like to see proof that he take it as well as dish it out. Carwin is a strong powerful wrestler with heavy hands, but unlike quite a few others, who seem to have him up on a pedestal, I will need a little more convincing, with him having beaten next to no one and not proven that he can be effective past one round.

I think kongo will fight carwin next because I dont know who ele there is for carwin.

Not quite sure meathead is ready for a kongo yet although I could see fireworks for the entire fight.

This has romance of the century written all over it

I just think it’s great that they found each other.
Feed em both to Carwin so they go to sleep and stop flirting.
Jeez.
