The official weigh-in event for UFC 127: "Penn vs. Fitch" went down tonight (Friday, Feb. 25, 2011) from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
The lone fighter to come in heavy was Dennis Siver who took the extra hour he was given and successfully made weight.
Aside from that, as well as the face-off between Michael Bisping and Jorge Rivera, in which the Ultimate Fighting Championship briefly became the Ultimate Pointing Championship, it was a rather pedestrian affair.
Blame Dana White for immediately separating any fighters that got a little jittery during their staredowns. Let's hope tomorrow night no one holds back.
UFC 127 will feature B.J. Penn taking on welterweight stalwart Jon Fitch. Michael Bisping has also been tapped to silence the uprising of fellow middleweight Jorge Rivera while local favorite (and lightweight contender) George Sotiropoulos battles Dennis Siver.
A welterweight mash-up between Chris Lytle and Brian Ebersole has also been tapped for the promotion's return "Down Under."
