According to Hughes' official website:
"We left Vegas on Sunday morning and flew straight to Hawaii. BJ Penn had texted me a couple of weeks ago to see if I had some time to come out and train and get him ready for Fitch. After that initial call I checked my schedule, said I could come and had him send me Fitch's last five fights. BJ gave me first class accommodations all the way through. I think we got some good training in, I'd love to sit here and tell you what we worked on, but I just can't."
What's a 21 second knockout loss among friends? The savage beating B.J. Penn laid on Matt Hughes at UFC 123 wasn't enough to stop the country boy from traveling all the way to Hawaii to put in some mat work with "The Prodigy" in advance of his UFC 127 main event fight against 170-pound immovable object Jon Fitch on Feb. 27 in Australia. The two former welterweight champions have been watching tape and "getting some good training in" but mum's the word on what exactly they've been working on. Will Hughes provide Penn the key piece to solving the Fitch puzzle?
