That's how he feels after his first round knockout win over Gian Villante at Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Silva" last night (Feb. 12) in New Jersey:
"Give me some credit, come on boys. I'm trying to be an exciting fighter. I want to stand up and bang and I think I proved it in this one. You know, let's stand out, let's hit each other in the head hard, you know? I know that sounds stupid and there's a lot more to it. We train hours and hours on our back and submissions and stuff but I know that's what the fans want to see. They want to see someone stand up and bang, they want to see some heavy hits. I want to do what the fans want and be an exciting fighter. It's the sideburns -- the power in the sideburns. "
"The Grave Digger" may have buried Bobby Lashley's career back in August of 2010, but no one was overly complimentary. After laying waste to Villante last night, he believes it's high time we all start giving him some credit. Although he's 32-years old, the Apex MMA fighter is 10-1 in his budding career, including 2-0 under the Strikeforce banner. With his win last night, he may have punched his ticket into the Heavyweight Grand Prix; that is, of course, dependent upon a few things, such as Fedor Emelianenko and whether or not he's retiring. That said, is it finally time to do what Griggs says and give him some damn credit already?
