I gotta give it to Scott Coker. He's on the brink of pulling off the biggest set of fights in Strikeforce history. But with all the talk of Fedor, Overeem and who has the best heavyweights. I just can't help thinking what's next? The Strikeforce heavyweight division is much like the UFC's HW division from a few years ago. Some really good fighters with hype who hadn't fought each other yet. Now the shine on some of those fighters aren't as bright as before. I think the HW tourney that SF is putting on is awesome and necessary, but by 2012, will we be thinking their division is as deep as it is now. Acouple years ago, we spoke of how the big 4 in the ufc would be battling for the belt for years to come. Now cain is hurt, carwin gassed and brock was destroyed. How will the SF HW's look after a some of them are beaten?
While SF has a HW division that is on par if not better than the UFC, what else do they have to offer? Coker recently said in an interview that for their next HW tourney they would save the UFC champ a spot. It would be nice if Coker would quietly build his other divisions up to a respectable level, because while they may very well have the better HWs, that is where ends. Their ww,lw,and lhw divisions are an not up to par to say the least. Their MW division is pretty decent and I think they should be putting that tourney together as we speak. Look, no one thinks that the UFC will ever co promote,so stop bringing them up. Let your fights do the talking. This HW tourney makes it an exciting year for SF. Phuck the Challengers series. Put your top prospects on the same card as Fedor, Werdum, and Overeem. Don't waste the chance to build new stars now. Because after the tourney is over, the smoke will start to clear and the mirrors might break.
Oh by the way, Happy Friday Bitches! LOL
