Cotto vs Margarito 2 results: Rematch recap highlights and video wrap from Las Vegas

Photo

Anyone who wants to see Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito part three, say "eye."

It was a busy weekend in combat sports as The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 live finale went down on Saturday night (Dec. 3, 2011) from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring Michael "The Count" Bisping, battering Jason "Mayhem" Miller en route to a third round technical knockout stoppage.

The better fighter won in "Sin City."

A few thousand miles away, on the chilly streets of Manhattan at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, another battle of big-mouths unfolded as Antonio Margarito tried to prove he was a better boxer than Miguel Cotto and not just the master of the plaster, as alleged in the wake of their initial encounter back in 2008.

After nine rounds of aggressive offense, Cotto was able to secure his revenge by forcing a doctor's stoppage in the ninth round. Margarito's eye had swollen shut thanks to the punishing left of the Puerto Rican pugilist and was deemed unfit to continue.

That evens the score at one fight apiece.

So who's ready for part three? If you were too wrapped up in the world of mixed martial arts to notice, or perhaps just too high and mighty to give the "sweet science" the time of day, you can bring yourself up to speed with highlights and event links after the jump.

Fans of combat sports won't be disappointed.

Don't think there will a a third fight

Cotto is probably leaving top rank, and probably fighting mayweather next, then he will retire

This week was pretty damn good for boxing action.

Holly getting brutalized in one of the worst reffing jobs ever, then the shame reffing job that was Agbeko-mares getting their right due, Vic gettin outclassed, Cotto proving that Margarito was using loaded gloves.
