Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 Finale results: Anthony Ferguson vs Yves Edwards fight metric report agrees with judges
At least as far as the winner goes.
Last night (Sat., Dec. 3, 2011) at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 Finale in Las Vegas, Anthony Ferguson defeated Yves Edwards by way of unanimous decision. It was a close fight, though, and that means a bit of controversy, although far less than normal.
Two judges scored the bout 30-27 in favor of Ferguson, while the other scored it 29-28. The Fight Metric report shows the latter to be correct, at least based on the numbers. Edwards attempted to argue after the bout that he felt he won but the cold hard numbers say otherwise.
But it certainly wasn't a blowout.
The fight featured little to no grappling. Ferguson was successful on his lone credited takedown attempt while Edwards went 0 for 3. Not much of an impact but if there's any, it goes to "El Cucuy."
The key is the round by round breakdown of the fight, which you can see (via FightMetric.com) after the jump. To read a complete recap of the Ferguson vs. Edwards fight click here. For complete TUF 14 Finale results and blow-by-blow coverage of all the night's action click here.

Hendo, Tyron Woodley, and the Diaz boys all think Yves got robbed, I didn’t watch it all so I don’t know

It was a close fight
I thought Ferguson won the 1st round and the other 2 were close.
Politics is just one big ass blast.
It looked like edwards packed in more power in his punches
"Did you know that if you mix equal parts
of gasoline and equal parts frozen orange juice
concentrate, you can make napalm?"
Hell no ferguson definitely had more power in his punches
that being said I thought ferguson won the first and edwards won the second clearly and pulled out the third but the third was really close, i watched that fight closely and had it 29-28 edwards and how 2judges had 30-27 is beyond me and fight metric agreed on decision but not the score
Those that were at the event seemed to have given it to Yves and Meltzer said that, live, you could see that many of Tony’s strikes missed.
I totally disagree with FM saying Tony outstruck Yves in the 2nd round. Tony scored the same way that Leonard Garcia scores: Impressive looking swings that miss.
close fight
I scored it for edwards. The judges who scored it 30-27 for ferguson are the reason they say don’t let fights go to the scorecards

This fight metric doesn’t judge damage. It is an amateur boxing tool.
If one guy gets hit with 3 “power punches” and doesn’t phase his opponent, the the opponent hits him with one power shot and rocks him, the advantage has to go to the more damaging blow.
Meh, someone was half-asleep when calculating this
Where are all the beautiful counters Yves landed? There were many
So if they were fighting an amateur boxing match
the result would coincide with the actual result from the weekend. Great. Good to know. Fuk fight metric…..
