Miguel Cotto defeats Antonio Margarito via referee stoppage following the ninth round after dominating his arch rival to retain the WBA super light middleweight title. Simply put, Cotto turned in a performance that should be applauded while Margarito slipped further and further out of the elite ranks. His eye, which initially looked as though it might hold up before that notion was obliterated by a few left hands from Cotto, is likely going to give him trouble for the rest of his career.
