UFC 141: " Lesnar vs. Overeem" took place last night (Fri., Dec. 30, 2011) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring Alistair Overeem earning a crack at Junior dos Santos heavyweight title by beating down Brock Lesnar in the first round and sending the big man into retirement.

Remember when "The Reem" promised to send him back to WWE? He made good on it.

Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone also made it a night to remember by engaging in a three-round, 15-minute war of attrition that saw the fist slinger from Stockton earn a unanimous decision win.

And a big fat bonus check for $75,000.

In other action, Johny Hendricks catapulted himself up the welterweight ladder by knocking out perennial top contender Jon Fitch in just 12 seconds while Jim Hettes impressed all with a dominant decision victory over Nam Phan. Finally, Alexander Gustafsson continued his ascension through the 205-pound ranks with a first round stoppage of veteran Vladimir Matyushenko.

Crazy how not that long ago people were begging for a division in between LHW and HW because they felt it was unfair to match big guys like Brock against other not so large HWs

Well, it's true. Alliteration was just as big as Brock was. That evened it up a bit. Brock only one because of his physicality

Id prefer to see some SHW fights and watch a guy like brock come in around 300lbs. Just not enought to make a division.

There's only the same 5 guys in mma super heavy weight division ha. There isn't enough. But there's plenty IIn the 235 range . They could divide the division potential ally
