UFC on FOX 2: Mitch Gagnon vs Johnny Bedford booked for Jan. 28 with Eddie Wineland hurt
A pair of bantamweight brawlers will get their hands dirty at the UFC on FOX 2 event on Jan. 28, 2012, when the promotion takes over the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 hopeful Johnny Bedford will square off against Canadian newcomer Mitch Gagnon following a "brutal" injury to Bedford's original opponent, Eddie Wineland.
UFC.com has it:
With Eddie Wineland sidelined, one of Canada's very best bantamweights, Mitch Gagnon, has stepped in to fill the spot against Johnny Bedford at the UFC on Fox event January 28th in Chicago. Verbal agreements are in for the bout between Bedford, a TUF 14 standout, and the 8-1 Gagnon, who will look to extend his six-fight win streak.
Despite getting pasted by eventual finalist John Dodson, Bedford (18-9-1) was able to bounce back at the TUF 14 live finale and run a clinic on fellow contestant Louis Gaudinot.
Gagnon comes to the UFC with an 8-1 record and penchant for strangling opponents. His most recent victim was David Harris under the Ringside MMA banner last October.
UFC on Fox 2, which will mark the promotion's second appearance on network television, will be headlined by a light heavyweight number one contender bout, as Rashad Evans and Phil Davis return from injury to battle for the right to fight Jon Jones.
Also booked for the FOX fight card is a middleweight title eliminator pitting former championship challenger Chael Sonnen against streaking 185-pound wrecking ball Mark Munoz.

Much better second fight for Bedford
Winelamd would have been overwhelming and got the finish. This is the rig level of comp to develop Bedford in a weaker div

Better Everywhere
Mitch’s Wrestling is better, his Sambo is Unreal!, Jits game is fast, ridiculously slick, he hands are lightning, and his Leg Kicks! Oh Snap! He will seriously, copy and pasta my words to your desktop, Make Bedford look like he doesnt belong in the UFC, Mitch Gagnon will be a top contender by end of 2012.

Agreed
I actually wondered why Gagnon was not on TUF this past season, but this is a perfect entry fight into the UFC for him.
Bedford will become the Matt Brown of 135. Always puts on good fights, but wins as many as he loses.
Vote Ron Paul 2012
Now more credit to Bedford though....
I know I said “Make bedford look like he doesnt belong in the UFC”,I still think Bedford is great, I think Bedford would of given Wineland a hell of a fight! but saying that, if it was Gagnon vs Wineland, I think Gagnon would of pounded him. Gagnon is the real deal, great everywhere, in all seriousness 2012 will be Gagnon year

Solid fight for that boy Bedford, Wineland would've dogged him out
Eddie was stuffing some of Joseph and Faber’s takedowns, he would sprawled and finished Bedford. Now this kid gets to build off of this fight in a weak ass division.
Tim Elliot had the best knockout of the year. FACT
Bedford's last fight on the Finale was one of the more one-sided fights I have seen
he thoroughly dominated and looked like a much improved fighter from the show. Granted his opponent was not up to the task so let’s see how he does in this next fight. Don’t think I have seen Gagnon fight before but it sounds like he’s pretty good looking at the comments above.
