Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem is set to go down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, this Friday night (Dec. 30, 2011), serving as a number one heavyweight contender eliminator match heading into 2012.
It's scheduled for five rounds; however, both men have promised that it will not last that long. Not even close.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently simulated the colossal clash on its PS3 "Undisputed" video game, matching up Lesnar against the "Demolition Man" to see who would emerge victorious.
The results?
After 25 simulated fights, the wrestling-minded Lesnar attempted a total of 287 takedowns. Despite Overeem's significant stand up advantage -- he's a K-1 kickboxing champion (read more on that here) -- the pair "rocked" each other an equal amount of times. Lesnar won twice via submission (arm triangle), but only managed to win 12 of the 25 simulated fights.
That means that Overeem -- who finished Lesnar via knockout a staggering 92 percent of the time in his 13 wins -- is the next man to challenge Junior dos Santos for his heavyweight championship in the New Year. Anyone think that the "game" will imitate life this upcoming weekend or did the gamers get it wrong?
