Former Strikeforce star and one of Esquire's "sexiest women alive," Gina Carano, is back in the headlines for her high-profile acting role in the upcoming "Haywire" movie from director Steven Soderbergh, scheduled for release on Jan. 20, 2012.
"Conviction," who has been strutting her stuff in the latest issue of GQ Magazine, hasn't seen action since a first round beatdown at the hands of Brazilian "Cyborg" Cristiane Santos back in Aug. 2009.
She was expected to return to the cage earlier this year against Sarah D'Alelio; however, she was forced off the card for vague medical reasons.
While the Strikeforce promotion recently got its second wind thanks to a contract extension between Zuffa and Showtime, no timetable has been set for her return to MMA.
MMAmania.com will deliver the latest news on Carano and her fight future as more information emerges. In the meantime, feel free to check out her most recent work on the set of "Haywire" here, here and here.
