Jamie Varner signs multi-fight deal with the XFC
(Tampa, FL) Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC), the Southeast's largest Mixed Martial Arts promotion is proud to announce the signing of Jamie Varner. The former WEC lightweight champion has signed a new, multi-fight agreement with the promotion and will make his next appearance at XFC 16:High Stakes, live on HDNet on Feb. 10th at the Civic Coliseum in Knoxville, TN .
Universally recognized as one of the top lightweights in the world, Varner (18-6-1) is not only a dynamic striker, but has slick submission skills as well. Varner has built a reputation for finishing fights throughout his career. In 18 victories, ‘C-4′ has finished 12 opponents in the first round. Only two of his wins came from the judge's scorecards.
Varner made a statement in his debut at XFC 14 with a convincing win over up-and-coming prospect Nate Jolly. It only took 69 seconds for Varner to end Jolly's night, as he rained down vicious ground and pound, to show the world that he was still a force to be reckoned with in the lightweight division.
Now, with his new XFC contract in his back pocket, Varner is thrilled to be part of the XFC's official roster. "Honestly I've never been treated as good or felt as appreciated as when I fought for the XFC in October," said Varner. "I am very thankful that they giving me another opportunity. Mr. Prisco and the XFC made me want to fight again!"
And John Prisco, the President of the XFC, is thrilled to have Varner under contract. "This is a big acquisition for the XFC," explained Prisco. "Jamie Varner is one of the best 155ers in the world and I'm thrilled to have him in our lightweight division. I know he is going to give us some spectacular fights, just like he did at XFC 14. We are still working on the opponent, but Jamie will make his next appearance for us at ‘High Stakes' in February."

Good for Varner.
Seems like a decent guy and good fighter. Not sure why all the hate from fans or rice-cerrone. Glad to see him back in action
We hate him cus he's awful
The only guys he’s beat legit in the last 3 and a half years don’t have wiki pages. He’s a puss too could of went on against cerrone took the easy way out. He is an absolutely awful fighter who got lucky a few to,ex. What a mistake by xfc. Hell be cut quick and claim he’s retiring again. Garbage fighter

If he's so awful
How did he make it all the way to where he is and why did XFC sign him? You guys are pathetic.. Give this guy a break he puts his body on the line every time he fights for YOUR entertainment.. I’m not a Varner fan myself, but I recognize that the man has skills, and saying he is an awful fighter is just a dumb thing to say..

Not for my entertainment.
I don’t watch him fight because it’s not entertaining. He’s that bad.
And I’d say making it to the xfc isn’t much of an accomplishment to be honest. It’s shows his talent that the UFC chose to not sign him when they basically absorbed the whole wec lightweight roster. They obviously saw what myself and chicken saw.

Getting signed by the XFC isn't an accomplish?
Ask wolfy if that statement is true.. MMA fans are some of the worst. If you don’t have a belt or not named GSP, you are shit.

besides the first guy who posted on here the rest of you are douchebags ..id like to see u talk shit to varner in front of his face u keyboard warriors … he’s a decent fighter with sick knockout power …he should be in the ufc instead of this minor league organization…. shitt they’re signing guys like ricardo funch and that falalapoe guy who keeps getting finished by lightweights and is 0-3 in the wec/ufc…why not give the former wec lightweight champ a shot uncle dana u douche
No, he should not be in the UFC. He is a TERRIBLE fighter
And why give a fighter who hasn’t beat anyone RELEVENT in 3 and a half years a chance in the big show. He doesn’t even belong n the minor leagues he’s that bad
Obviously you have a tough time assessing talent if you think he’s good. And keyboard warriors? This is a blog you retard where opinions are stated. When did we ever say we could beat up can crusher Varner? So get your panties out of a knot, watch some lw fights and come back and say varners good then. He is terrible And I’m sure anyone would have knockout power against Nate jolly. Get it together before you post ever again

And Ricardo funch was unbeaten when they signed him
Not even a comparable situation. He lost twice and got cut. Jeez I hate when people who know nothing about mma come in here spewing nonsense.

Last I checked you came in here with your first post ever calling us douchebags
However I’d debate the fact that you know ALOT about mma based on the fact that the only input you’ve ever had is claiming Jamie Varner is good. And no jamie varner does mot deserve a snot in the ufc. Why would he get a shot when he lost three of his last 4, one being a draw (which he would have lost if not for the point deduction to Sholaris ) and won his fight before that because cerrone hit him with illegal blows? He basically hadnt really won in his last 5 fights. That’s not UFC worthy.
You have definitely taken this “keyboard warrior” thing to a new level. Your welcome to post your opinion, just try articulating yourself like a half intelligent human being. And I don’t know about “whopping cowboys” before the illegal blows happend. All I’m saying is it looked like he was fine to go on but took the easy way out. I also appreciate the compliment calling me the king of mma. I wouldn’t go that far but if you want to by all means. But again before you post stop being such a piece of shit please, for everyones sake.
Also good point by brizzle, a reply button exists moron

Golden gloves boxer and good wrestler who failed to evolve as a fighter, he was better that Cerrone when they first fought, cerrone would smash him now. I hear Varner is training with Edgar and his camp so maybe he will inprove
