Scott Coker on Strikeforce future: Nothing is signed yet but I'm optimistic
Just this past weekend, UFC President Dana White came right out and said Strikeforce, the promotion Zuffa bought back in March and mined for a lot of its top talent over the following months, will live on and its remaining roster of fighters will be staying put.
Scott Coker, the CEO and General Manager of said promotion, was a guest on Inside MMA and talked about the future. He is, as he has been all along, optimistic:
"Well, you know, nothing's signed yet. So that's the fact. I am optimistic and I think that hopefully by the end of this week or sometime early next week we'll have a big announcement to make. I think both sides look at this as something they want to do (and) have worked diligently to make this happen. I think it's great programming for Showtime, to have all these great fights and to keep Strikeforce going. Personally, it makes me very happy because, you know, I feel like, you give birth to this league and being a founder of the name Strikeforce and the founder of the Strikeforce mixed martial arts league. So I'm happy and I think that it will continue but for right now, we'll have to wait and see and hopefully by the end of the week we'll have something else. I'm feeling very warm right now. I'm feeling warm and fuzzy. But you never know."
The more we know, the more we don't know, you know?
Strikeforce's current schedule is rather thin, considering it has just two events planned over the coming months. The first, "Melendez vs. Masvidal," takes place this Sat., Dec. 17, 2011, in San Diego, and the second, "Rockhold vs. Jardine," which is set for Jan. 7, 2012, in Las Vegas.
After that, it's a deep, dark abyss with an awful lot of fighters left with no dates and an uncertain fighting future. All this is without even mentioning the heavyweight grand prix tournament, which still has yet to reach its conclusion.
If Strikeforce is, indeed, sticking around, the fight announcements are going to come fast and furious over the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, Coker talks about losing a few champions to the UFC and more after the jump.

I wonder if Dana is trying to fuck this deal up
making a premature announcement is something Dana has never done in the past and knowing that him and the guys at showtime don’t see eye to eye makes me think Dana is trying to sabotage this deal?
I don't try to intimidate anybody before a fight. That's nonsense. I intimidate people by hitting them.
It's in Dana's best interest to keep the fighters employed. This deal will happen.

Who was the last team to beat Greenbay? Who was the last team to beat the Denver Tebows?

Cont. Strikeforce
This is probably Dana’s idea for all UFC rejects to go to instead of giving ammo to Bamma! The New SF will be full of illicit “tweeters” like Miguel Torrez!! hahaha
This
Actually makes a lot of sense
Jason Miller is a retard with straight hair and curly teeth.Hes a couple of dolly mixtures short of a quarter and spends his time swinging of a tyre attached to a rope! I should have listened to the MMA royalty on here, especially Jay,ANS and ViolentMike who kept reminding me that Mikes wrestling was the best at 185 and 205 and that if Greg Jackson,Randy Couture,Blackhouse,ATT or team quest ever needed any tips on game planning Wolfsalir is just a phone call away

Time to put Strike Force to rest
The UFC is already oversaturating the market and PPV’s are suffering because of it.
There’s no reason the UFC shouldn’t strengthen their cards by added Strike Force fighters.

I also hope that this situation will have an happy ending, but we’ll see how things will be in the future.
