That was fast.
Just hours after Dave Herman was no longer labeled as "Pee Weed," it was announced that he'd been booked to throw hands opposite Stefan Struve at the upcoming UFC on Fuel TV 1 event, which is scheduled to take place at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb., on Feb. 15, 2012.
MMA Weekly brought word of the heavyweight tilt on Nov. 30.
Herman (20-2) made his Octagon debut at UFC 131: "Dos Santos vs. Carwin" back on June 11, pounding out fellow ZUFFA debutante Jon Olav Einemo at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
"Pee Wee" was supposed to make his second appearance at UFC 136 opposite Mike Russow; however, some shenanigans surrounding his pre-fight drug test kept him on the sidelines until recently rectified.
Now he's back (again) and ready to take out his frustrations on the "Skyscraper."
Struve (22-5) bounced back from a knockout loss to Travis Browne back at UFC 130 earlier this year to strangle Pat Barry en route to a second round submission win at UFC on Versus 6 on Oct. 1.
The win over "HD" pushed the lanky Dutchman to 6-3 inside the Octagon and a win over a veteran like Herman would go a long way in getting him back "in the mix."
UFC on Fuel TV will be headlined by a welterweight war featuring top division contenders Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger facing off for a spot in the crowded 170-pound title chase.
