Is Frankie Edgar a boring fighter?

via www3.whig.com

In the last couple weeks, there's been a lot of talk about Shogun vs Henderson being the greatest fight ever or the greatest fight of the year. Recently, it has been compared to fight of the year canidates Edgar and Maynard's two wars. Both of those fights saw Edgar getting dominated in the first, only to come back and show incredible heart to survive and pull away in the later rounds. I don't care whether you think Edgar vs Maynard 2/3 was better or worse than Shogun vs Henderson. All of the above fights were wars and deserve the recognition they get. What does bother me, is people that say Edgar is a boring.

I completely disagree with the people that say Edgar is a boring fighter. In addition to the wars with Maynard, he's had exciting battles with Sean Sherk, Hermes Franca, and Spencer Fisher. Another great fight was Edgar's fight with Tyson Griffin, which was ranked on the top 100 fights in UFC history. In that fight, Edgar showed pure heart by suffering through a very deep knee bar for the last thirty seconds of round 3. His UFC career also includes finishes over Mark Bocek(Edgar is the only man to stop him with strikes) and Matt Veach. Finally, perhaps his biggest accomplishment is his absolute domination of future hall of famer BJ Penn. Penn had never been dominated at light weight until he fought Edgar the second time. Throughout his UFC career, Edgar has faced the best in the world and some say he "pitter-patters" his way to decisions. To put it simply, the people that Edgar doesn't finish rarely get finished. Overall, I'm a huge fan of Edgar and would love to hear any counter arguments in the comments section.
